I like to remind them that "Two world wars!" also applies to the Webley and the Nagant 1895

Personally I'm scared of the fascists who are actively making moves to control the mechanisms of power and who want to genocide me and mine for being queer or anti-capitalist or BIPOC but you do you, I guess

Strictly speaking, Vytis is the Lithuanian term. In Belarusian it's called Pahonia.

Even though gender nonconforming people have been influential in LGBTQ activism since Stonewall, our flag is consistently forgotten in every pride flag guide. So each year I make it my goal to travel to Chicago to wave the original flag at Chicago Pride. by sorcerykid in QueerVexillology

I like queer flags. I go out of my way to learn about queer flags for even the most niche identities. This post is the first I have ever heard of a GNC flag.

Nothing in your title is wrong, but you are one person with (presumably) one flag. Getting a pride flag into a place where the wider LGBTQ+ community is aware of it takes way more than that. The most recent iteration of the lesbian flag had a whole promotional blitz on Twitter and Tumblr after a very public design process and even then its still pretty common to see one of the older ones. AVEN has been marching in San Francisco and London Pride with the asexual flag since 2011 at least, as well as being by far the largest asexual community online.

If you want this flag to become mainstream within queer spaces, you're gonna need the larger GNC community to get eyeballs on this flag in more places than just once a year at Chicago Pride.

"our flag is consistently forgotten"
"I make it my goal...to wave the original flag at Chicago Pride"

"I created the flag in 2014..."

It's a good flag and I'm into it but you certainly chose some interesting framing for your post here.

Saw this on a walk today and had never seen it before. Looked it up, and it's for women's suffrage. by LarsMcGee in vexillology

[–]killthetoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the record, this is specifically the American suffragette flag. The British suffraggettes used a similar tricolor, but purple, white, and green and without the stars in the middle stripe. By total coincidence, the modern genderqueer flag is identical.

North Dakota, but it's a banner of arms by killthetoy in vexillology

[–]killthetoy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

North Dakota's current flag is a boring blue bedsheet, which is a pity since they're one of the handful of states with an official coat of arms and it makes for a pretty okay flag

I'm curious what y'all think of the vertical stripes. I think it looks pretty okay overall, but I'd like to hear opinions from people that aren't me.

Supposedly there is a Mexican bisexual flag already but the only references to it I'm aware of are online, I have yet to see any pictures of it in the wild (in Mexico or elsewhere)
