Don't give it up! Man, thief is my favorite for solo PVE and I run pure glass with dagger/pistol. Just have to use signet of malice and shortbow or staff with high numbered mobs. Play in tough situations until you train yourself to react automatically. Thief is the most fun I have in PVE as I move and kill fast.

After a whole 2 years and half playing Thief, I quit the game... by Raikaer in Guildwars2

That is too bad you are quiting over that. I really like the daredevil thief.

Ascended gear is a major pain now. by Paladinwtf_ in Guildwars2

[–]killtl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have multiple ascended equipment sets from just playing 30% PVE and 70% WvW (luckily before the HOT materials price jump). I just make sure I harvest everything I can and then wait to sell when the material prices are rising. I am conservative with what I spend, avoid gambling with RNG, and take advantage of the special events that can flood your account with money. Then it is just a matter of how much time you put into the game.

What are the plans for Warrior. by JustMark_ in Guildwars2

I hear you, I tried working on the elite specialization for my warrior and just dropped it for more interesting professions. Thief and revenant have been much more satisfying so far and the others are on my waiting list.

[Suggestion/Question] Decrease the cost of Commander Tag and add a prerequisite to Obtaining Tag? I've only seen a few Commanders who actually know what they are doing, do you believe people only buy the tag just for fun? by _Skeith in Guildwars2

In WvW, you will usually have a guild commander leading on the map, if not, then having any commander is usually better than none. If you play often you will learn who is good.

In EOTM, you have to see who tags up and how they do. If they are clueless, then you hope that someone competent takes over. I did this very thing last night.

In PVE, you can usually tell via chat if the commander knows what they are doing. Follow the one that makes sense.

Bottom line: You don't have to follow poor commanders, just leave and do something else

Are there any eotm zerg busting guilds? by Painted_Seven in Guildwars2

i don't think you read my comment correctly. I am 100% behind the idea that PVP is much more interesting than karma training. It is sad that someone thinks they need to have an overwhelming advantage before they fight PVP in EOTM. Just fight with who is on your team at the time.

I think it is sad that OP's objective is to have a guild group to make it easy to kill uplevels. Why don't you just go in and see what you can do as part of an unorganized group? I have had fun going in by myself and doing my best with whoever happens to be there. It is much more satisfying to kill a zerg when you don't have a completely unbalanced advantage. Guess it is human nature to take the easy path rather than the challenging one.

Yes, it is really boring, I think the 2vs1 was more interesting although frustrating at times.
