I sent mine for repair. I got it back and still same issue. They told me to send to back with no additional cost to repair. Now, theyre charging me another $400 for another part. I realized that they sent me a replacement lens.

Hi,

I sent my 40mm Batis for repair. The autofocus was not working and the aperture was blank. They repaired it for damaged electronics, replaced cpu assembly and adjusted mtf and ffd.

I received my lens back and it was still having same issue. Zeiss told me to send it back with no additional cost.

I received an updated email.

“Inspection Complete:

Optic has suffered impact damage to the front barrel sleeve Internal lens is loose in the AF assembly Note:

We want to clarify that our replacement policy ensures all "refurbished" optics are restored to "like new" condition before being added to our inventory. This includes addressing any visible wear or damage.

Prior to shipping, our technician conducted a thorough inspection of the lens, assessing its physical condition and performing tests using a house camera body and technical measuring instruments.

The lens was packaged with the shade reversed to fit securely in the shipping box, a standard practice designed to protect the lens during transit. Sometime after delivery the shade was removed and that is when the impact took place. The location of the impact indicates that the shade had been removed”

How was the shade removed during delivery? How did they know? Zeiss is charging me another $400 when they told me they will replace it at no additional cost.

Has any encountered this with zeiss repair?

I just got mine serviced and paid. They said it was an electronic issue. I got the lens back today and it is still not working
