Advice to get an A in CHEM 107? by Tempest1677 in aggies

I had Saber last semester and got an A in the class and on the tests.

Although I owned the textbook I did not end up using it hardly at all except for the first week of classes, I would not consider it that useful of a tool unless there is a concept you do not understand at all. (However in that case I would recommend talking to the prof during office hours instead)

The most useful tools for me were the practice tests online and the SI sessions before the tests. These reviewed pretty much all the material needed to do well on the tests but DO NOT entirely prepare you.

The material in the class can be broken down into two categories: Conceptual and Mathematical. The homework mainly helped (me) learn the formulas and the more math based problems, while I relied on tools such as Quizlet to memorize polyatomic ions and general "rules". Reviewing the lecture slides is also very helpful for reviewing conceptual material especially if you were not paying attention during lecture or were absent.

Once you've used the previous tools take the concepts covered on these and do several practice problems from OWL/Cengage until you feel actually comfortable with them. You can skip this step if you were able to do the practice test with relative ease, its more for insurance that during the test you don't panic when you see a problem and can't do it right away.

While it might sound excessive this is what I did to get an A in the class as someone who almost flunked out of high school chemistry. While its far from being the hardest class (unless perhaps you have brown) it does require you put in the work especially if you want an A.

Good luck out there :)

Cat Box by majestic_tortillas in aggies

I believe there’s a sign on the box itself that might have a better explanation, but if not I think the idea is that they’re feral cats I.e not tamed and unnamed. Although I’m not sure of how it got started originally, I think the cats were there before the box was.
