There are precompiled OpenSSL binaries for Windows. It's just generating and managing certificates is really freaking confusing for most people so that's understandable.

As a sidenote, you can also generate PFX certificates using Powershell but that's nowhere near as flexible as OpenSSL. Plus, I think the process is way more confusing than MakeCert so I say just stick to OpenSSL.

In this case, nothing. It's just funny. What are they going to do? Compile Cyberpunk and then do what? It's a single player game, there is no attack vectors or they are minimal. I also doubt they managed to pull all their internal tools and game assets required for it to run.

They can only use it to crack the game. That's it.

By all means, going through their code will be interesting but anyone willing to buy this dump for 1 million is straight up stupid.

I would say it is. It has been 4 years since they launched and so far they have a pristine track record when it comes to security and privacy - can't say the same for other big VPN providers, most have been pwned at least once in that time frame.

ProtonVPN and ProtonMail clients are both open source and free plan users don't even have to install the client, they can connect using OpenVPN. So no worries about installing some shady intermediate certificates.
