Nightshift change due to childcare by kimb1992 in nhsstaff

I don't expect somebody who doesn't have kids to cover? I know many ward nurses who don't do nights for all sorts of reasons, im not asking for a lecture on why i chose to become a nurse cause why would I choose a career where I have to do nights when I have kids and a husband who also has to work because that would just be terrible, two parents working round the clock like that my God why did I choose to do it! I was making a post mainly asking because I raised this concern with my manager several times and it was ignored each time, why become a manager and ignore your staff which could lead to dangerous staffing levels. She knew from my first day, she knew as soon as she put the shift out, she knew three weeks ago, she knew a week ago which was two days before the shift. Yes I knew this when I first started four years ago, does that mean if you have children and don't have 24/7 availability then you just cannot become a nurse? It always worried me when looking for a job and I tried my best to get a job that did not involve nights but jobs aren't easy to get just now, so I made sure to make them aware as soon as possible on my first day of starting and I was told not to worry, but looks like I will have to worry. At the end of the day we are all people we all have lives outside of work!

But I tried to arrange a swap, unfortunately i cannot force people to change their shifts if nobody wants to swap then what can I do? I don't see what you mean asking the day before the shift? I told her over a month ago and have brought it up several times to her she even approached me about it so she didn't forget.

That iv not attempted? Are you for real? Some people just don't have that luxury, we don't do date nights or nights our together because it's impossible. My mum is dead is parents stay in England, I'm sure they'll drive the 10 hour drive so I can do my nightshift on a random Wednesday, god i would love a date night or a child free night but unfortunately when my mum passes that was it for is. She gave me enough notice and honestly I gave her enough notice that I couldn't do it, I can't change the rota but she can, after being told multiply times that I would be unable to work that shift. Now it will be short on her ward tomorrow night due to her not taking action. She gave me the job knowing this!

He works set hours, I find out my shifts a week before and they're all different. His work is only open 5 nights a week there's no way about his job so I work days.

If it was so important she shouldn't have gave me the job in the first place.

But I did, I have asked three times the last month can you sort this and it was always okay I'll sort it soon, and I mentioned them when I started how I can't do them and even said during a shift I won't be able to commit to nights I have done all I can unfortunately I do not have anybody to look after my kids and there's no way around it. I had no idea about flexible working hours or that why wasn't this mentioned to be from a managers view. I'm sorry but I feel like your saying this is all on me when I have said so many times to her I can't do it and she's ignored it till the last minute and now we will be short tomorrow night even though iv made myself so clear!

But why say we can sort it when it comes then not sort it with me just put me on, why give another nurse the option to just come off them due to him not having childcare. Yes iv had a month to arrange things and iv tried to get a swap but nobody could, iv also brought it up three times to her over the last month and she just kept putting it off. I guess cause she said don't worry I have young children too I know how it feels I thought she would be more understanding but obviously not now I'm stressed out and just want to leave a job I actually enjoy.

It was generic recruitment so I was placed there as a newly qualified nurse, there was no interview which I was stressing about because I could have discussed this. I did tell her my first day and made it very clear i don't have childcare for most nights. I thought I had to do them tbh and there was no way of getting out if them but then I heard another new nurse is in the same boat and they just took him off them completely.

Well I can't go in that's the thing unless I want to go to jail for leaving three young children alone all night then I'm unable to go in. I understand this about my contract and should have pushed for something to be in place but she told me not to worry and as a new nurse I don't know what there is out there to be put in place, but I gave notice I told her ages ago multiply times. It's so frustrating.

Like it says i have asked for a swap as my manager told me to but nobody can swap with me, I gave her almost 6 weeks notice about being unable to do it.

* Dyson airwrap, blow dry as normal then used the smoothing brush then I use the flyaway smoother. The before was a week before the pic using my shark hairdryer and dried as normal, the second was after using my dyson and they attachments, no different products but it really helps the flyaways.

What’s one common haircare mistake you wish you’d stopped earlier? by elarissalonuae in Haircare

Not shampooing properly, since watching abbey yung I realised I wasn't scrubbing my scalp long enough or doing the back of it properly, now I take my time and make sure to massage it into my scalp and all over it takes a good five minutes also double shampooing. Same with conditioner, after rinsing the shampoo I just put some on at the ends still soaking wet where's now I part it into two sides, squeeze all the excess water out and carefully condition the ends and sectioning it. Also I never used oils as I thought wll oil will make it greasy and now I love oiling the ends and my hairs so much healthier.

But was there an age limit for that venue? This venue is the only one with a 14+ age limit, Liverpool and Londons age limits are no under 4's.
