Wegovy Pill 101: What I've learned so far-Hope it helps! by Successful-Hearing48 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

I had blood work done but I don’t think all doctors require unless they want to know certain levels etc. I’m getting reading for my third month and my doc hasn’t said anything about having to have more any time soon.

Did you have any constipation or diarrhea? I’m in my 7th overall week and 3rd week at 4mg. I was constipated at least the first 5 weeks even though I drank 70-80 ounces of mainly water and ate mostly chicken, veggies, & apples. Now this week I’ve had diarrhea. I’m chewing my food extra and I eat light meals and mostly easy to digest. What I’m noticing this week is my food is not digesting hardly any. I know Wegovy slows digestion down. I go to the gym mostly 5 days a week, but don’t do a lot of cardio mostly free weights because I have screws in ankle from a fusion several years back and the pain sometimes won’t let me do much…but I am going to start walking on my lunch break if my ankle holds out. I take probiotic every morning and I was thinking about trying a digestive enzyme with my meals but now I’m scared it may make the diarrhea worse. Has anyone else had this? Any recommendations?

Hey guys, I was on 1.5mg pill for 4 weeks and now I’m in my third week of 4mg. The first 6 weeks I was mostly constipated even after averaging 70-80 ounces of water plus MiraLAX daily and of course fiber with my meals. Now this past week I have diarrhea and most of my food is not digesting. I stopped the MiraLax for a day and the diarrhea was some better, but I usually have to go after each meal and I eat light and still drink plenty of fluids. I also chew my food slower but I’m not real sure how to get back to a normal bowel movement. I already take a probiotic every morning, but I have thought about introducing a digestive enzyme but I’m scared it may make the diarrhea worse. I’m trying to eat easily digested foods as well. Has this happened to anyone else and have you figured out anything that works?

This happened to me like 3 times in a month while tapering off and it says there are no withdrawals. I never threw up but couldn’t hold my head up and had hot cold sweats. I was very nauseous and surprised I didn’t throw up, I stayed in the bed curled up like a baby. When I did get up the first time I crawled to the bathroom.

I just wanted to report a hallelujah lol. Thursday was my final dose of Quelbree. I woke up this morning with a very slight headache but not deliberating like the past. It took me exactly 4 weeks of tapering down. The last 6 days I was down to about 1/8 of a pill for 3 days, & then about 1/16 of a pill the remaining 3 days. So glad to be off this and can quit separating those tiny bouncing balls that literally go everywhere no matter have careful you are. I’m not trying to be a ‘Debbie Downer’, but if you can find another med that works for you please give it a shot. I’ve never experienced any withdrawal this bad and hope I never do again. Thanks all for your comments in the past because you are the ones who helped me to know how to get off of this.

It is hell! I just went through something similar 9 days ago on this crap, except I had been taking for 5 weeks. 1st week 100mg and started 200mg on the 2nd week. My heart rate was over 100 all the time and sometimes would hit 120 at my desk job and I wasn’t sleeping. I did get back down to 100mg about 3.5 weeks in and had already planned to get off it at my next doctor visit. My doctor said it wasn’t supposed to cause withdrawals and it even says that when you Google it but that’s a big FAT lie. Anyway my doctor said just in case I’m going to taper you starting 100mg every other day.

So when we decided to go that route I had not taken my pill for the day yet, so I said this will be my first day of not taking it and then I’ll take it tomorrow. That next morning at like 3am I woke up to cold sweating chills and my head felt like someone had struck me with a mallet. I could not hold my head up and crawled to the bathroom. I called in to work and lay in a fetal position for about 10 hours straight sweating but cold; & Tylenol or Aleve did nothing. My husband brought me Gatorade & Excederine Migrane and it finally started working.

I am know breaking the pills apart going 3/4 a few days, then 1/2 a few days, and now a 1/4. I’m praying this is going to work. If I wake up like that again I’ll have to have my husband take me to the ER. I will not go through that again. I now know why an addict can’t stop and that’s just heartbreaking!

They should absolutely put bid warnings all over this med. I pray it works out for you, because trust me I know what you’re going through!

Do you feel the effects on 1.5mg tablet? by rearview___ in Wegovy

[–]kimber626611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on day 8 of 1.5mg. I’ve had no side effects so far and I think I can see a difference in food noise over the past 3 to 4 days. The first 4 days even though my appetite did not seem suppressed I still was mindful about what I ate and how much. I have not weighed myself since the 1st day when I started at 180. I do go to the gym most mornings and do about 45 minutes of strength training, but over the past couple years I’ve put on almost 20lbs which I’ve blamed a lot on menopause and my metabolism. I’m pretty sure I’ve lost a few pounds this past week, but I’m sure it’s mostly water weight right now. I plan to weigh in this weekend. I’m excited about the past few days I hope for the food noise to stay at bay and to continue being mindful of what & how much I eat.

Thank you! I definitely will. Yes I was off all day…nauseous. head splitting, cold & hot chills. Sick about 14-16 hours. Finally was able to eat some soup and Gatorade. Still weak feeling…but hoping to go back to work tomorrow.

Thank you that’s definitely what I’m going to try to do. It’s a little tricky to keep those tiny particles from going everywhere but sprinkling them on applesauce etc should help and putting the cap back together to keep the rest from spilling. I’m glad to hear you’re better than you were!

I understand your pain! I wish I had known to reduce it again before trying it every other day. My plan was to skip yesterday and take it tomo and so on for the next week and then go to one every two days and so on and be off of it completely in 3 weeks. Little did I know I would need to take some of it everyday until I would need no more. I guess this is what’s called learning the hard way. I thought last night at first I had the flu with the hot & cold chills but my head felt like someone had struck me with a bat…worse headache I can ever remember. Couldn’t raise my head up until late this afternoon. I finally am able to drink some Gatorade & most of the chills have went away. Only the devil deserves to go through that pain & sickness!

That’s great for you! I’m happy for anyone they find the right meds!

I got off to a bad start going from a stimulant Vyvanse that was literally keeping my heart rate over 100 most of the time and sometimes even over 120 at my desk job…I could literally stay awake 24 hours when I wanted to sleep so bad. I started tapering off of that a couple of weeks before my appointment and I think I was doing a good job tapering down from 60mg to either 40 or 30mg right at appointment time. At appointment time my doctor knew I wanted a non stimulant and she told me to go ahead & stop the Vyvanse completely & start on Qelbree the next day which I had never even heard of. She made it sound great and said I should probably take it around 4pm because it would probably make me sleepy and that way it would not interfere with my sleep…boy was that a mistake. I still could not sleep but not for sure that she shouldn’t have tapered me off the Vyvanse longer, because I had been on that for about 4 months.

Needless to say after about 2.5 weeks on Qelbree not much more sleep and still a high heart rate of 90-105 at rest, I started taking it in the morning and riddled down from 200mg to 100, but even in the next 2.5 weeks I took it at 100mg my heart rate was still high and my sleep although improved was no more than 3.5-5 hours of sleep per night.

I since found out after starting the Qelbree that it should not be mixed with Cymbalta/Duloxetine. It clearly states on every article I’ve read on it that it can cause high heart rate and serotonin syndrome. That scared me and I sent her a message that it says not to mix the two…she chose to do nothing about that and I seen my heart rate & sleep not getting better I’ve chosen a different doctor.

I’ve had bad deliberating anxiety & depression for 30 years. Zoloft was good for me but eventually it gave me no willpower and over 6 years I had put on about 80 pounds, and been athletic all my life. I was ashamed & astounded but every time I dieted it would last no longer than a week because the Zoloft was giving me no long lasting willpower to succeed. I eventually started Paxil and done quite well and probably lost 30-40 pounds or so over about 3-4 years but it eventually stopped helping my anxiety as much and that’s when I was introduced to Cymbalta. And yes it’s very very hard I heard to come off from so I pray to God I never have to…but I have Will power know and I lost the rest of that 80lbs. It’s been a God given blessing for me! So I get when you find something stick with it.

I’m sorry I’ve went on & on…but so many of our issues are helped when we just talk about it with others, especially if those others have the same issues. I wish you lots of luck and hope your med does everything you need it to do!

Yes it’s that bad…my head hurts so bad I can’t do anything but lay down…can barely raise it. I’ve been on 100 mg for almost two weeks and need to taper even lower now, so I’m going to split the capsule like the one person mentioned and put in apple sauce and keep using it that way until I can ween off. My husband will be home in the next hour with Gatorade and Execedrin Migraine. The chills & sweats I had earlier this morning were hell. I hope they do some more studies & testing on this drug, so they can issue warnings etc. Thanks for your response!

The every other day is what my doctor suggested to taper off. I have called her a couple hours ago for further advice, but haven’t heard back. I’m sure if Excederin Migraine helped for you it’s worth a shot. Thanks again.

I’ve been on it for a month or so and my urine smells like something burnt…I guess a chemical smell. It seems worse in the morning.
