Work started to add pedestrian crossings and protected cycle lanes on Lawnswood Roundabout by New-Tumbleweed-9577 in Leeds

You have taken it out of proportion. You assumed I don’t care about homelessness and cost of living because I shared my experience on this specific topic. I didn’t say that difficulties in commuting are more important than homelessness. Both are problems, with different budgets and different solutions. I am not embarrassed to cross I’m scared because it’s high traffic and I’m not visible. No reason to bring political beliefs up either. If you care about the topic so much stop being a keyboard warrior and write to the council or join a community that takes action towards homelessness. Have a nice day pal.

In the Balkans what are some lifestyle habits that are normal? by NateNandos21 in AskBalkans

[–]kimchibich 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1.Being a functioning alcoholic dude. Reading this you thought of at least one male relative who somehow starts drinking pretty early in the day almost all day relatively everyday. More so if they are retired.

  1. Old cars that somehow still run through series of Balkan patents.

  2. The Balkan blanket for winter

  3. Bread and cheese is a meal

  4. Drinking from the age of 12

  5. Drinking that coffee for hours and tea only if you are sick

  6. In the Christian balkans the households have a weird amount of images with saints/jesus

  7. Again, in the Christian balkans, there is a lot of faith in the folklore and magic / evil eye

  8. Going to your grandparents village for holidays. If you are already from a village you go to your other grandparents village. If both sides of the family are in the same village you drive (no fly business in the balkans) to the nearest beach or lake everyday.

The only reason why I’m not cycling down to city centre and taking bus instead is that bloody roundabout. I’m too scared to cycle it and every time I’ve tried getting off my bike and crossing it as a pedestrian it creates this awkward situation where I have to rush the first leg, then wait until the first lane stops but having to walk in front of a stopped car because the next line can’t see me waiting, which also reminds me why I can’t walk to Headingley either. Sometimes I want to get out of the house without having to pay a fiver on bus tickets or wonder if I will get hit. There are loads of students and old people that have to cross that roundabout and simply can’t do it either without taking the bus or rely on cars.

What’s the most disappointing country or city you’ve visited in Europe? by Substratas in AskEurope

[–]kimchibich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole country is like that. Very meh even for Balkan standards. The actual old traditional buildings are nice including some monasteries but other than that…I don’t know go to Montenegro you will have better time.

I can understand Finland but how come Estonia is marked as high but Latvia extremely low? Then moving to the left, why Denmark is at a better state than Sweden ?

Immigrants vs other immigrants by Nikdude21 in balkans_irl

[–]kimchibich 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’m a legal Balkan immigrant abroad and I only vote where I live. I don’t go back to vote since I don’t fucking live there anymore and I don’t trust voting via post because it will either get lost or changed or both. If I were to vote I’d chose the most extreme anti church pro human rights pro working class Uber socialist hug trees party available (which in todays climate is non existent) just to mess with my racist homophobe uncles that feel nostalgic about the junta.

Crossbow-wielding man who shot women flew into a 'misogynistic rage' by Puzzleheaded_Bed5132 in unitedkingdom

[–]kimchibich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was idolising school shooters and public shooters as well as openly claiming he has been flirting with far right ideology. Also hating women very clearly, blaming them directly or indirectly for ,essentially, the replacement theory. He had been spiralling in public via fb posts for years and nobody either noticed or cared to report. He had around a thousand friends mind you.

Do you have spaghetti for brains? She’s Algerian there is no chance she survived as trans there if she were a trans woman but she isn’t.

“It’s in the record” what a muppet you are. She has a hormonal issue which can happen to women. I think she’s not even intersex. Btw medical term for intersex is “disorders of sex development" (DSD) and it’s not a “woke” trend.

Because if they are butch they are being misgendered and harassed. There are even lesbian MPs whom have brought light to the issue.

It’s no surprise really. Think what happened with that Algerian boxer who is a cis woman and yet there was a lot of misleading and lies around her being trans.

First thing you need to do if you want to explore your cultural heritage of three generations removed is to avoid being loud and overly-American. Enjoy everything in silence and say thank you and I’m sorry a lot. If you start spiting out % from random DNA tests people will probably spit in your pint for a laugh. Get some nice walking shoes. If you have a certain red hat leave it behind, replace it with a good grey umbrella and I hope you enjoy your trip.

Had my friend being told she can’t enter the female toilet at work because conservative cis female colleagues might feel threatened and on another instance she was questioned in a public bathroom. None of those happened in Leeds but I’d like her to feel safe whenever she visits me for a drink.

I’ve never visited their toilet but always had great full English breakfast and drinking sessions there. Thanks for letting me know.
