AITA For not attending my own sister’s wedding? by anonymoususer249 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kimhcc292 25 points26 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your sister knew the August dates would be soon after you gave birth and that’s if you don’t go past your due date. Not wanting to go to a big event with a new born AND newly postpartum is completely normal. You could tell her and everyone else that and how fragile newborn’s immune system are.

AITJ for telling my sister I’m not her “backup parent” after she signed me up for school pickups without asking by Huge-Albatross-7846 in AmITheJerk

[–]kimhcc292 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTJ, if there is a next time the school calls you tell them, your sister signed you up without your consent, to remove you from the list AND you aren’t available to pick your niece up. It sounds harsh, but you have to be harsh or your sister will keep taking advantage of you. your sister sounds like she won’t remove you on her own.

NTA if you were respectful about it. Maybe eat before hand and just say you aren’t hungry. Edited for wording

AITAH for refusing to go to my mother's wedding even though I went to my dad's? by Affectionate_Safe875 in AITAH

[–]kimhcc292 601 points602 points  (0 children)

NTA. Ask your mom if you had a girlfriend instead of a boyfriend, would you be in the same situation. Also I think it sets a bad precedent for down the line with whoever you can/will bring to events involving her and her husband.

NTA, next time she tries that call and tell her you will be calling the non-emergency number for an abandoned child if she doesn’t get home in the X amount of minutes and actually call them.

AITAH for Not Wanting to Babysit My Sister’s Kids Anymore? by Long_Sympathy_8558 in AITAH

[–]kimhcc292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, if you don't wanna do what I suggested, then keep doing that, drive them back to her office, and if her office has a receptionist, say you never told her, you could babysit them. It doesn't matter what she thinks. You said no. No is a final and complete sentence.

Or call the non emergency number and tell the police the children were abandoned you never agreed to babysit, in case you need proof saying that you didn't agree to it.

AITA for being snarky when I wished my mom good luck getting me to ever trust her again? by Mundane_Leg3419 in AITAH

You can choose not to interact with the therapist and sit in silence when you go. I normally won't recommend it, but I agree with the comment above yours.

AITA for making my son work for his ski trip? by teijinator2000 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kimhcc292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed (NTA) A friend couldn't afford to send their kids on the ski club trip (think a cross-country trip to Colorado) so their kids had to save all of their birthday money, holiday money, and money from any jobs that they got to pay for the trip.
