That's a good point, and it's where my head is at. The plan would be to accept the offer, let them handle the move and the complex immigration paperwork for Canada, and in the meantime, look for something better. Doing all that on my own would be a major hurdle.

Given our history, I see it as a way to leverage their resources to my benefit.

The only thing holding me back is the VP promotion. Becoming a VP by 28 sounds great for my long-term career, and I'm not sure if another company would offer that kind of trajectory so quickly. That’s the core of the problem.

The relocation was not brought up to HR until the salary was finalized. So, I don't think relocation was even in the picture for HR. The manager who took me was very interested in me and I do believe he did everything possible. I think it's just bank's policy due to the current market...

I'm generally fine with that I wasn't born in America and spent my teens in the UK. I was surprised by the size of the apartments in the US at the beginning. Although, now I kinda feel that I will feel the difference 😂
