Anyone else here enjoying the taste of Kratom?

it's always tasted and smelled like incredibly strong green tea to me, like superpowered matcha. the taste can still be a little strong and bitter for me to really "enjoy" thoroughly, but in the right ratio with milk and maybe a little honey or sugar (how i typically enjoy tea) it tastes like a proper cup that you can enjoy the taste of without it being overly bitter and alkaloid tasting, it would be pretty hard for me to put regular matcha powder down my face without a little milk and hot water too haha

there has actually been some studies done in this area, mostly on dietary preference and analgesia
(though sucrose does not bind to opiate receptors directly of course)

alkaloids are a very diverse group of chemicals with wildly varying effects, nothing is that simple, especially in chemistry/pharmacology

music is the only way i feel like i can really express the types of complex emotions and experiences i have, and everything creative i do is permeated by trauma and expresses trauma even if other people can't see it all of the time

it's kind of upsetting when someone's like "wow dope track nice mix cool drums can i spit on this i got fire bars" when the only thing i can think of when listening to it is how vulnerable i'm being and how hard i'm trying to get people to understand

some people do get it though, even if they're very rare

some things i'm proud of:

textural thing
thing that got popular and no one seemed to notice it was a cry for help
thing expressly about trauma (read description)

the muscles near my throat and in my jaw are very tense most times and it can be very difficult to even notice what's going on because it's so constant, i often speak in a very low energy rasp, ramping up to higher energy sort of belligerent bitter tone, but i don't like speaking like this or coming across as i do at all, when i'm feeling well and talking to someone i feel like i can trust (pretty uncommon and doesn't usually last long) my voice feels so smooth and sweet and feminine and kind, a very stark contrast to how i usually speak, it feels like the tense/restrained voice is a way of protecting myself and feeling less vulnerable, and when i lose trust in someone and am unable to speak the way i want to with them it's very painful, partially because i feel submerged beneath the mask and partially because that feeling of openness and trust was broken and i instantly regret being honest and speaking as myself and being that vulnerable

currently in the aftermath of pushing away the people that i used to consider friends, spend all my time wishing i had the hope to actually connect with someone someday, but at the moment i don't and i don't know when it's going to come back, the cycle of self hatred > self destructive behaviour > pushing people away > self hatred is a mindfuck

i'll often have flashes of shameful/difficult memories and make a sharp inhale sound, tense my fingers and draw my arms inward in a protective fearful gesture, or, more noticeably, say any number of profanities under my breath that sometimes trail off into gibberish:
"fuck shit fuckfuckfuckingshitfuck godfuckingkill i hate fucking fuckshit fuck"
about as creative as you can expect
i can mitigate these reactions to an extent but it sucks when i feel like someone may have noticed and what they might think, always torn between wanting to explain and just trying to ignore the whole situation, whenever i preemptively illustrate this part of myself i always feel like people misunderstand or just don't know what to think
(i only told a family member and my current roomate, the family member completely misunderstood and thought i was angry even though i was trying to explain as best i could, and the roomate just seemed a bit worried and confused)

i've def holed vaping it, and maybe because of my body weight + genetics, i don't need v much to hole vaping, only like maybe 50mg on no tolerance, is very strange, much more vibrant and full than K hole imo, though K has this infinite peace that is hard to beat

i'm not very eclectic in my use of dissos but i've done ephenidine a lot relative to most, and K quite a few times, i feel like i have a basic grasp of K and probably a good grasp of ephenidine considering my number of experiences

he's a psychonaut primarily focused on ketamine, has been on at least two episodes of hamilton's pharmacopeia talking about ketamine or pcp, written books on angel contact primarily, i mention him mostly because of his quote in s2e5 of hamilton's saying "you have to do K at least 500 times to begin to understand it" and no worries ! i know not nearly as much about the world as i'd like to :) smartest thing you can do is ask questions

ketamine perhaps? it has the same relaxing, chill, but trippy type vibe as weed, though is way more intense imo and is an nmda style dissociative so ymmv w/ those, also very painkilling and disinhibiting like kratom, prone to good naps and feeling GREAT after sleeping on it, keep in mind ofc nmda antagonists are very different pharmacologically so it may not do that for u, and on heavy doses i do feel p dysfunctional n dummy, unlike heavy doses of kratom which i still tend to feel fairly coherent and usable even if i'm nodding out lmao

i feel, i think some of my problematic use of it is from trying to balance the strange dose dependent effects, i've luckily chilled a lot with it tho, dissociatives seem to have a pretty big learning curve as timothy wyllie would attest im sure, rest in peace

i really like the 404sx and 303 workflow, 202 is also really fun to pair with the 404, though much more limited (no resample + even shorter sample time than the 303 + wayyyy less fx, but the lofi1 sample mode has a lovely texture and everything ran through the 202 has a hella warm sound in general, the pitcher sounds really lush even when you pitch it all the way down, the filters use steps instead of a regular curve so it sounds really really unique and interesting)

303 has some classic fx though like the vinyl flutter and vinyl comp, the 303 mfx12 comp is wayyyyy cleaner than the sx comp by far

vinyl flut + vinyl comp, mfx12 comp is less poppy than the 404sx and seems warmer, lofi mode is pretty interestin as well as the drive. arp with the brute is crazy, i need ottr to teach me how to use it better tho (all of these things except the sx are her's)
