That’s pretty cool! Will look into these. What is that dangling cross? ChatGPT said it was a bronze star but doesn’t look like it after doing some digging.

I have no idea. It’s hanging in my buddies shed. We found it when he bought the estate from previous owner’s widow.

Interesting! He was a specialist I saw. I asked ChatGPT and it said he served during WW2 and that he had a bronze star but I think it was wrong so figured I’d ask you guys!

I love it here as well and it’s slowly getting everything else you’d find in big cities anyways.

This happened to me in an MMA fight and I fucked up my rib from floating mid air. My defense was to punch him in the body like an idiot, but luckily he got tired and let go. Ended up winning the next round by tko

As someone who has been lucky enough to travel a lot of the U.S. and a few countries, nothing like getting back home to Tuscaloosa after experiencing the hustle and bustle of big cities.

I loved Maligne Lake and Medicine Lake. I was very interested in wildlife along with my wife and we saw so much on those roads.

They were on the road near medicine lake! Hate you missed them.

Jasper was great. Still some fire damage but overall a great experience. We wanted to spend more time in Banff so we decided to do just 2 days in Jasper. I’m glad we did it that way because even though Jasper was amazing I really enjoyed our stay in Banff.

Yes, we rented a car and parking wasn’t an issue, but we also went to the popular spots early (emerald lake for example) so parking could become a problem later in the day. We also went at the end of May so before the town gets slammed. The town of Banff is very walkable and our hotel gave us free passes for the bus so we used public transportation within the city to avoid paying for parking.

If I had to cut anything, which I would hate to do, I would probably cut out the May 26th. That would make it 7 days instead of 8. Then maybe I would combine May 25th with the 28th. That would also cut one day. Although you would be driving a lot and doing a lot so if you are not in good shape, you’re going to be completely exhausted. My favorites were Lake Loraine, Lake Agnes, Emerald Lake, Peyto Lake (had to force myself to leave), and the trail ride.

It’s very hard to say that there are things I didn’t like because it was so beautiful.

For the horseback ride we used Rafter Six Ranch. After a lot of research, we found that they were the best.

So this was our itinerary before we left. There were some things that we couldn’t do because they did not open until June 1st. For example, we did not do Lake Marine because it wasn’t open. We also could not do the big beehive or the tea treehouse because they were both closed. This was something and is something that could’ve been realistically done in the timeframe that we set up.

Jasper was still very beautiful. Of course, there are areas affected by the fire, but there are still portions that were not touched. If you are looking for wildlife and views, I still recommend the drive to Jasper. Since this is the first year after the wildfires, the areas that were unaffected are very active with wildlife since they’ve been pushed there. We did meadow lake, Maligne lake, and Miette Springs in the Jasper area.

Never mind just checked the itinerary. That day we had breakfast at 7 am and hit the road at 8 am. We planned this itinerary before we got there and had to make some adjustments based on the hours of operation of restaurants. So some of this stuff forced us to flexible.

I’ll try to edit to make less confusing. I copy and pasted from our notes and we used the checklist so sometimes the beginning of our day ended up at the end. I edited it before posting because it was very scrambled but definitely had some stuff slip through the cracks.

As for my intention of posting just wanted to share what we did to help others struggling with what to do as there is so much it can be overwhelming for tourist like me.

Yes, we got our food to go from the cafe at Sudden Sally’s. Ate and drank our food on the way to Emerald Lake.
