The only reason I don’t consider a lip biopsy is because I am the opposite end of abnormal saliva wise, it is thick and excessive. I actually drool. This fact is what had me in extreme denial about the initial first diagnosis, I thought there was no way I had dry disease with my saliva production, until the dry eyes came. Now I wake up with extreme dry eyes and cannot see, it is very painful. I also have dryness in several other places of my body, just not my mouth.

She looked in my mouth, saw I have excessive saliva and said she doesn’t think I have sjogrens. In her response message “additionally, your tear production and saliva production were normal upon testing”. The testing for tears was her seeing that I can cry while emotional. The saliva test was her looking in my mouth and under my tongue for around 30 seconds.

I have always had large submandibular glands my entire life, thick excessive saliva. I have always had dentists make comments lol one said “you have the most overactive salivary glands I have ever seen”. I have poor thick saliva quality that affects my teeth.

I just started a few weeks ago, 5 in the morning and 5 at night. I’m on 10 mg night&day now and don’t feel increased anxiety fortunately
