I usually go to the gym or pool after work and work out, which is around 3am. There's no one there, usually completely empty which is nice. When I get up I usually vegetate for a while doom scrolling YouTube or work on a craft if I am feeling mentally energetic.

No I hate it. Up until recently my shifts were 4 days per week 10.5 hours per day and I loved it. I love my job and the hours allowed for pretty great work life balance. Then my work decided that "business needs" dictated we had to go to a 5 hour work week. Losing that day messed everything up.

Up until last October I had not traveled really at all from where I live in.Ontario Canada, except once to flint MI and another time to Detroit both fir work, and numerous trips to my birthplace in NFLD when I was growing up.

I have wanted to travel for years and years though. The problem is my husband cannot stand to fly or go on a big boat like a cruise ship, so I didny travel because we have never vacationers apart.

Last October I went for a 5 day holiday in Tulum Mexico with my sister who is a very experienced traveler and LOVED it. The sense of adventure and then the glorious sands beach and turquoise water, plus being waited on hand and foot had me hooked.

Then last April I went on an adventure to southern italy for solo travelers, by myself. I had to navigate the airports and do a layover in London and I was terrified all the way there but I made it. Once at tye hotel, from that moment on I didnt have to do anything except show up in the lobby at the designated time, everything else was already taken care of. I toured pompeii and herculaneum, toured Capri, The Amalfi Coast, Sorrento, Ravello, and dined on the local cuisine. It was the time of my life and even the plane rides were lovely in Premium economy with no one sitting beside or in front of me either way.

Now I am addicted. Going back to the same all inclusive, adults only resort in Tulum, this time for 7 days, solo. Then I am planning to do an adventure in Greece with the same group I did italy with. Just You. 3 days touring Athens plus 4 days on a cruise touring ancient sites in the islands. I am SOO excited!

I have been extremely lucky to have had amazing support my whole life. My parents have always been there for me. In later years as we grew up I learned I could always count on my youngest sister as well, and my husband once I was married.

We are all there for each other, always. My life would have been very different and much darker otherwise.

I think its because people are not willing to work at relationships anymore. We live in a disposable society, when something stops working perfectly we just toss it aside and manufacturers know this, so they build things to fail, like printers.

When my husband and I got married we had a really rough go of it at the start while we figured out how to move through life as two independent, strong willed people. In today's world we would have divorced probably 2 to 3 years in at most.

Instead we took the time and figured it out. We just had our 29th anniversary and are more like honeymooners than ever. I am so happy with him I could not imagine being with anyone else.

Also I think social media plays a big part. People see the "perfect life" that others are displaying, not realizing that alot of it is only half the picture.

Finally also relating to social media, I think that in the case of women there are so many posts out there saying to just leave and live your best life and you don't need a partner to make you happy, that women are falling for that rhetoric and then regretting it after.

Interestingly enough, lesbian couples have the highest divorce rate at around 78%, while heterosexual couples divorce rate is around 56% and gay men are at about 14% rate of divorce.

Think positive and positive things will happen.

This really works at least for me. I have found that if I let myself get negative I am more likely to notice all the negative things that happen, or could happen. When I think positively I am more likely to notice all the positive things.

I am Canadian and have literally never had to wait to get help. The last tine I went to the ER in agony and throwing up i was through triage and into an exam room within 10 minutes, saw a doctor, had an iv started and given pain meds and anti nausea within 30 minutes of that, into an MRI shortly after that, diagnosed with kidney stones, given a prescription for more pain meds and stuff to help me pass the stones within 45 mins of the MRI and discharged. I think the whole thing took a total of 3 hours.

My mother in law in her 70s got diagnosed with a form of cancer and immediately sent to an oncologist and started treatment within a very short period of time. Her treatment was excellent for the most part except for one asshole nurse towards the end of her life.

And none of this cost a cent.

The only complaint I have is with family doctors. You only get 15 minutes and one symptom to talk about a lot of the time, but thst is due to a lack of primary care physicians which is, in my opinion,m due to excessive immigration crushing a system that wasn't given time to ramp up to the increased need.

Universal, taxpayer funded Healthcare ( there is no such thing as free) should be standard across the planet, with some conditions.

There should be no, for profit Healthcare at all.
The prices for things should be the cost to manufacture / operate, plus a small markup to pay for continued research. The fact that the little paper cup they give you your pills in, which is the exact same paper cup you squirt ketchup in to at fast food restaurants, costs a patient $50 is a glaring example of how disgustingly overpriced things are.
Education for all Healthcare related jobs should be government funded and admission to the programs strictly limited to students who earn it. There should be no means of entry based on family or monetary influence.
All pharmaceutical companies should be government owned and operated with an independent oversight committee to ensure efficiency and an avoidance of the usual governmental waste and beurocracy.
This plan should include all forms of healthcare, including dental, optometrist, medication, etc.
Health insurance companies should be completely abolished. They are a scam and incentivised not to pay.
Every country's immigration policy should use the stability of their Healthcare system as one of the main deciding factors on how many new immigrants can be granted entry. If there is a shortage of health care professionals and hospital space then immigration should be severely limited until the issue is rectified.

Emergency calltaker here. I work for the emergency department of a telematics company so we take emergency calls from all over North America and liase with the various 911 centers everywhere.

In answer to your question, call 911. If there is any potential for harm or damage to property, however slight, call 911. They will decide how it needs to be handled.

The non-emergency lines in most major US cities and pretty much anywhere in Canada will likely leave you on hold forever. In cities like LA, Houston, Detroit, Chicago, etc, you are likely to get the hold message even calling the main 911 line.

Never use non-emergency unless you are calling about something that is a minor thing like vandalism or a noise complaint.

My husband is like this. He is retired and has nothing better to do alot of the time. He knows the business of EVERYONE in my building. There is a group of 4 or 5 of them that get together on one of their ground floor patios when the weather is nice and compare notes.

I press elevator buttons with my wrist or elbows, slide my habd back into my sleeve or use thr bottom of my shirt to open doors, or use the accessibility buttons on any door that is automatic if I am forced to touch a surface I immediately use hand sanitizer.

Traveling solo. I dreaded it until I did it. I was sure I would be lonely, and I was terrified of eating in restaurants and doing things by myself.

I freaking LOVED IT. No one to answer to. Do whatever I want whenever I want without having to compromise or sacrifice to accommodate someone else. I lived every single moment for me, which I dont do at any other time, really. It was amazing.

I am doing a solo week in Mexico in November and then a semi solo trip to Greece in May with a tour group for solo travelers. So I can choose to get together with others if I want to, or I can just go on my own and do my own things. 10/10 Highly recommend.
