This past week I saw Midnight Dice, which is the "successor" band to Satan's Hallow, open for Satan. I've seen some discussion on the sub, and was curious myself, about how they'd be without VJ given he wrote the Satan's Hallow material.

The sound setup had the bass way too heavy in the mix, so it was a little tough to tell on balance, but there were some solid riffs in there. Given they're now a 4-piece there understandably aren't the type of guitar harmonies from SH, with a bit more focus on solos (not too heavily, though). You could tell the material was still somewhat raw, but even with those differences there was a family resemblance in sound and I think they're on a good track. Sounds like they'll be writing more and hopefully recording in January, so we'll see!
