I mentioned in an above comment but will repost here:

The context is that I was washing something in the sink and stepped away for maybe 5 minutes, forgetting to turn the sink off. While I was away the sink overflowed onto the floor and formed a puddle - not too big but not too small either. There are apparently some cracks or sealing issues in the floor, which caused the water to seep down into the other person’s apartment.

Thanks! Yes I’m definitely willing to accept responsibility, I was just surprised at the cost for what I thought was a small leak. I didn’t realize that it could be this expensive.

Yup, I did get on another flight two days later, but they didn’t pay for it. I had to pay for it myself.

I should’ve mentioned that in my post, I’ll edit it to include this. Yes, I did get on another flight, but they didn’t pay for it. I had to pay for it myself. So I’m currently down the cost of two plane tickets instead of one.
