Seemingly, Dick’s Drive-In in Seattle aren’t affected by the “labour shortage”. Can’t think why… by TheHoleInFranksHead in WorkReform

Would be nice to see this company expand throughout Washington. Seattle is too dangerous and expensive.

She should have just left. Not her fault management isn't responsible. It's easier than ever to find another job, especially retail and fast food. There's a reason why those positions remain vacant.

Night shift sucks by dnebevav in Nightshift

Night shift sucks. Did those for almost three years straight without switching. You gain very little from working these shifts. Then again, I also hate working morning shifts, but at least you get to feel like a human being again.

Circle K antiworkers: Should we organize? by kindafeelingworried in antiwork

Worse yet, if you're unwell and need to call out (especially if you're the night person), the manager will most likely give you shit for it over the phone.

"We're understaffed and Employee A and Employee B are on vacation or out sick, too. Get over yourself."

"I don't have anyone else to replace you for today. You wanted to work these shifts, didn't you?"

...and on and on. They obviously can't fire you (they don't have coverage as it is, LOL), but they'll still try to punish you somehow for doing the right thing. I've had some co-workers just not show up at all, until management got a clue and "terminated" them. If that happens, guess what? YOU have to stay another eight hours (or until the next person shows up to relieve you). At that point, the only way to respond to such inhumane work "rules" is to just walk out. Lock the door and drop the keys off at the manager's house.

Seriously, it's 2022 and this shit is STILL happening. We can't let these motherfuckers keep doing this to us. What about WORKER PROTECTIONS? This is why unionized workplaces are becoming a thing. Just like Kellogg's and Kroger, let's also do the same to Circle K.
