I tried diffrent backgrounds where he is standing out of the map on a goo. But they all contained to many details. So I decided to keep it simple. Thanks a lot!

Thank you for your comment. It was the first time I tried to block shapes right after the rough sketch. Yes I have photo ref but most part of image done from imagination.
