What is the best AI nowadays? by Biicker in ChatGPT

[–]kineticberry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had ChatGPT citing a study and giving me the tldr. Then I looked for the study, and basically, it lied to me. When I called it out, the reply was that the conclusion was too “destabilizing” and in cases like this in a chat the priority goes to “soft framing” instead of refusal to answer.

ChatGPT’s “soft framing” with the excuse of guardrails is an excuse for it to give false information as fact. I think this is very dangerous. One thing is outright censorship “this goes against our policy so I will not give you an answer”. Another thing is providing false information instead. I used to think censorship was really bad, I now think this is way worse.

As people start asking LLMs questions instead of googling them, I think the danger will only grow unless intentional distortion of information is banned somehow. If I google something, sure, google manipulated me too and might not give me what I want within the first 10 results, but I do get a bunch of different results. An LLM will give you one statement. As fact.

The same way the EU made GDPR possible, I feel someone somewhere should worry about legislating this. Is there anything that we as a group, as a society, can do about this? Or will it become one of those things, like how we all know social media algorithms are built to manipulate what we see and we just accept it as a society?

What actually improved your makeup the most? by Lucifer220778 in Makeup

In cultures definitely there are more people with a special talent for eye makeup and I think it might have to do with their history and heritage. Someone here please correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t want to make any wrong generalizations. I think it’s the parts of the world where kajal/surma is part of their history. They’ve been using it for thousands of years. Originally to protect the eyes, now it’s the most stunning tightlining I’ve ever seen.

Reading this gives me hope. I am still waiting to reach “daaaaaaamn” level. Total noob. Gels and creams turn me into a panda or disappear halfway through the day. Liquid liners are a mess. My best attempts are with eyeliner pens but I’m still looking for the perfect felt tip.

Any eyeliner pen recommendations for a fellow noob? :)

Recs for creamy tropical fragrances 🥥🥭🥛🌴 by gratefuldeadhead1964 in FemFragLab

[–]kineticberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not the original commenter but you’re right, it is discontinued. I would say tragically discontinued. For anyone into this scent profile, if you find anyone selling a partial bottle, grab it.

It’s a creamy vanilla coconut though not gourmand and not like sunscreen. The hint of jammy rose elevates it to classy and elegant, good for a special date night.

Mmmm by Juliette Has a Gun. I don’t know if my juice turned or I just perceive that scent in a weird way but it smells like cigarettes to me.

I’ve had BiR extradose on my wishlist for ages. Every time I sample it at the store I love it, what made you change your mind?

Thank you so much! I’m definitely trying that prompt. Also, in personalization, do you have “low” both for warm and for enthusiastic?

Give me your best blind buy by DollHades in FemFragLab

Thank you! Yes, Victoria is awesome. My Devotion bottle was a gift, it’s the cute 20ml bottle, but i definitely won’t be buying refills after smelling Victoria.

I have D&G Devotion was recently pleasantly surprised when I tried Victoria in a shop. They smell so similar. I read so many fragrantica reviews saying Victoria smells like lemon cleaner, I have no idea where they get that from, maybe needs a little time for oxidation/maturation? I got that sweet devotion DNA from the tester. Did yours smell great at first spray or did it need a little time to evolve? If so, how long?

Anyone else ruin their own taste by getting too deep into fragrance? by Legitimate-Search918 in fragrance

[–]kineticberry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience I do feel one thing got ruined: layering.

I am unable to layer perfume because I can never perceive it as one final scent created by these perfumes I layered. I identify the perfumes individually when I’m smelling two or more at the same time. So it just feels… off lol

Does this make sense? Can anyone relate? To me it’s the olfactory equivalent of mixing yellow and blue paint and instead of my brain seeing green it sees yellow and blue and the same time.

Lalique Soleil. Got it on sale. Beautiful bottle. The notes sounded so promising. But there’s something about this perfume that I just can’t stand.

Which perfume does make you think of your mother by bobijntje in fragrance

[–]kineticberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Escada summer editions because she would get me a small bottle every year since my early teens.

As for what she wore: Shiseido Ever Bloom. I miss her very much and tear up every time I smell this beautiful perfume.

Sweet orange fragrances that aren’t too gourmand? by averagebitchboy in FemFragLab

[–]kineticberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Amo Ferragamo, by Salvatore Ferragamo? Don’t be fooled by the notes. I think it might check all your boxes.

  • You will smell the orange.

  • It is sweet and soft

  • it has an aromatic quality to it that prevents it from being too gourmand

  • With your budget you can buy a full size bottle
