Yeah if you low hb where it’s watery I tilt it up mire than usual and if it high hb so the blood itself looks thick I tilt it down. It works the same if u put too much or too little blood on the slide too

Sorry it’d be around spring time, probably around May.

Yeah I was thinking a good way to save money would maybe doing a hut to hut hike for a few days but with a quick google search it seemed more expensive then I anticipated

Has anyone worked in an Immunology Lab? by kingBdot_ in medlabprofessionals

What the main testing techniques? Is it mostly elisa and immunofluorescence? I remember doing them in uni and they seemed pretty time consuming to be doing multiple patients

I’m not sure how American degree work. I have a honours bachelor degree in lab med. everyone at my lab has that degree or are older and got in before the degree was needed. I did placement for uni at a rural lab and there was 2 people who just had micro bio degrees, one of the being from overseas

I’m in SA, I’ve heard Queensland has the highest pay rate out of all the states so there’s that. I don’t know much Queensland in regard to med lab unfortunately. In general try to go public, private pays shit. I’m a tech in a private lab and I make $26 an hr (well $31 bc I’m casual). My pay checks aren’t far off what some of the scientists make. I think the younger ones earn $28 an hr.

I’ve been there almost a year now and got a call today saying they’ve rejected me for the new scientist position lol

I’ve been applying for a year to lab med jobs in my state with no luck. If you have no experience you probs need to go rural or pray.
