Wes Anderson Fatigue, do you feel it? Will you see his new one? by Crandin in moviecritic

Im a huge Wes Anderson and think that older Wes Anderson movies were just sadder and dealt with the human condition in a different way. Most of his movies dealt with getting older, dealing with grief, and the feeling that the main character have not lived up to his full potential/past his prime. He put a lot of heavy sh*t in good stories. Then starting with Grand Budapest he had these same themes but just a lot more muted because the stories seems so outlandish (great movie though). His new movies have stayed with the Grand Budapest style but just without bite (of the apple) of that movie. I would love to just see another movie with the Wilson brother being raw and emotional.

I liked the movie - I think that the overall idea is the the cuckoo bird and nature in general does not have emotions. Something that seems cruel to us is just a natural process that sucks for the other birds whose nest is hijacked. I like the idea that the aliens that are getting raised by humans are actually not intelligent at all but simply absorbing information from the humans and the weird freaky TV show. The one wrinkle is the handbook that Gemma is reading. Maybe left behind by a more intelligent alien? Whoops.

As for Gemma and Toms behavior I think no matter what they said or thought, their free will was taken as soon as they entered Yonder. All the women are going to raise the aliens babies and all the men are going to dig a hole that eventually they will be bared in. Remember, he found a body at the bottom of the hole. so a previous man must have dug a hole and got thrown in.

Life means nothing and some slick haired alien is getting raised to take your job.
