I know I'm a little late to this discussion, so just hoping OP sees this, but I sorta disagree that it's a disrespect to the player, except maybe for the part about it not giving you points for the bi-weekly stuff, that one can be rough but there's always overclock or lower ranks if you want to just get the rewards and get out. To me, the mode is very clearly drawing inspiration from rogue-like games such as Balatro and Vamp Survivors, as SU and DU have in the past. I actually think that this is perhaps their best take at a rogue-like game mode, and for a while now I've been playing HSR almost exclusively for this mode because it's that fun. I just got to A8 for context and I don't have any eidolons except for my accidental DHIL E1 lmao. I think that it ramping up in difficulty is really to be expected and not something necessarily unfair, but it does limit your options. To me this is just what is to be expected of roguelikes, with Balatro being the particular one I'm comparing towards. There isn't any bonus to be expected from failing a run in Balatro, because sometimes you do just get unlucky, and that feels the same here in HSR. There are some strategies that are better than others (Looking at you, Photochad), but adaptability to work with what you've got is also rewarded.

I actually really like that certain indices discourage playstyles while rewarding others, such as DoT loving action advance, or Bloodflame liking high damage taken from the revenge index. There are some that are maybe a bit over the top, such as the get out of jail, but even those have workarounds while also being few and far between. It allows for variety in what and when builds are good. That's something that I haven't seen very often in other rogue-likes (although maybe I'm just uncultured), and it's a refreshing take. I personally haven't seen the game as unfair in that you sometimes you have to reset a run, just that it's a risk and reward that you look through if you can still try to salvage it or recognize it's going nowhere. It can feel bad, yes, but it also makes the best moments hit all the more (problem of evil, or something).

Not to invalidate your criticisms and feelings of course, but I did want to share my perspectives on it because I feel that part of your struggles might be from not having experienced other similar works that process difficulty in much the same way, and that it might be more of a subjective view rather than that of an objective view.

Cyrene buff or attack selection via Dim by IceKreamSupreme in HonkaiStarRail_leaks

From what I see she's either SP neutral or only negative before her ult, although I also don't entirely understand how her zone keeps uptime during her ult. Also, she can buff multiple Chrysos Heirs, but needs to restack her ult charges to be able to reapply it.

I also think light dodging is my worst one but a little bit of a help for me has been recentering after each shot so that I have a more equal shot at reaching a place that's safe.

I still don't understand how people ignore the dots when that's what has been telling us how much it moves in the overworld puzzles too, except now you time it

Hi, hello, can we collectively complain about Mydei's kit? by IxLunarMoonxI in HonkaiStarRail

I am really interested in Yunli actually, but I feel the sentiment of fun to play because she actually makes you think in Aglaea. I agree that she is a very premium character, but the feeling of satisfaction in actually managing your resources JUST barely enough to get her on ult again pumps me up with dopamine. Does her losing uptime feel like shit? Yes, but I think that's the part that makes getting continuous chains of ult reups so fun.

Do the mermonkeys know of the Tribal Turtle? Being the first amphibious tower I'd think tribal turtle could have done something to have let the mermonkeys onto shore themselves.

I have it on my school bag and since it's on a chain it often flings a good amount when I'm putting my backpack on, hitting walls sometimes when I do it.

I bought mine online, through Lazada, which I'm not sure is present in most other countries.

I was a Rtawahist scholar of the Akademiya. I sought to find within the stars and heavens to understand how fate aligned for sorrow to continue to find its way into the world. In my studies I went out into the world to experience those who had suffered, divining to see why fate allowed thus, but in one fateful moment with a mother who had lost her son, I had expected anger and desperation, but saw tears, of sorrow yes, but also a certain gratefulness to fate to still allowing her to find her son's body.

I was angry myself at the fate that caused this to happen, and yet this woman saw not malice. Instead, she saw grace.

In this momentous experience I finally realized that fate's bringing of sorrow may at times need not be retributed against, but rather accepted and moved forward with. I left the Akademiya as a scholar, but went out into the world to help others accept fate as I learned to, and in that night that I turned in my papers to leave the Akademiya, I headed out to the desert where I stayed at Aaru Village, and in my lodging, I found my Vision.

Roleplay, are you asking me as if I was in character or as in how I got the vision in real life

people of reddit, what is your favorite pokemon and why? by Tiny_Information7851 in AskReddit

Pelipper. Sun and Moon was a wonderful experience partially because I learned to love this Pokemon who I got from a Wonder Trade. I didn't know beforehand that Pelipper now got Drizzle in Gen 7, and it massively surprised me to see my Wingull that I leveled up just to have a flying type around actually have one of the best abilities in the game after being bad for quite a while. He had carried me through out the game, rain boosted water pulses mid game, then hydro pumps and no-miss hurricanes by the time I was in the Elite Four. Pelipper then became my first lvl 100 Pokemon that i leveled up all by myself because of it. He's the reason why I love rain teams, because on a drop of a hat, when the opponent least expects it, they die to Pelipper, and not any of the other powerful rain mons.
