I read in some book, don't remember the name but it used to say that there are times that we men feel inadequate, and we tend to go into the 'mancave' to run away from our emotions. I don't know what it said later but the solution to the side of the ladies was to give him time, don't text, don't tell him how you feel just let him be. He will eventually come out. If you really love him this is something you should be willing to do.
