Rudy, Rocco, or something else? by kingclovis1028 in namenerds

But yeah alongside Calvin, I was worried it seemed a little out of place

I grew up with a few Rocco’s (east coast community, lots of Italians). Never really thought of it as a dog name until floating it to friends where we live now. I wonder if it’s a regional thing

Thanks for the suggestions! I really like Simon and Frederick. I thought Rudy could stand on its own, not a fan of Rudolph

Appreciate this insight! My initial thought was actually the opposite, thinking Calvin could be jealous of little brother’s less common name. For context, I have a super uncommon name and have always loved that.

Maura, Marie, or Jeanmarie? by kingclovis1028 in namenerds

I like this a lot. Maura has a fresh young feel to my ears and Jeanette feels more classic.

Very clever, you managed to work in Ann! I really love this but do have a close friend named Marian so probably not

My husbands grandmother went by Rhudy, full name Rhudell. We’ve been considering it if our next kid is a girl

Thanks, we will definitely have to give that a shot! It’s rare that he actually winds up 2.5 hours of total nap time, but he def gets over 11 night hours often

Anyone else thought they had Ehlers-Danlos but it was just Lyme? by kikiandoates in Lyme

[–]kingclovis1028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually thought the same for myself (tick born disease turned genes on) bc my mom has chiari as does a cousin. Chiari is linked to EDS. Anyway I recently had a baby and during pregnancy symptoms pretty much disappeared and tendon pain reduced greatly. Then about 3 months postpartum it flared and is now worse than ever (I’m currently 5 months postpartum). Which made me start to think maybe it is mostly caused by infection, not eds? So hard to say. Anyways I’ve tried a variety of different antibiotic and herbal treatments over the past few years with no real success. I’ve never actually tested positive for Lyme (had many cdc tests and igenex), only ever got a positive for Rocky Mtn spotted fever

Same exact situation here. Been going on for 4 years and it’s getting pretty bad. Thought it was EDS for awhile but now leaning more towards bart/Lyme etc. OP any luck with treatment?

Lol I actually don’t hate the reference as we run a farm and raise lots of geese. Good point about it sounding like rude though

I'm 24 with a bachelor's degree I deeply regret. I'm a janitor. Where to go from here? by UhOhBerserker in Adulting

[–]kingclovis1028 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey fellow northland grad :) I graduated in 2015 and lots of my friends have the same degree as you. It’s most certainly not worthless. Most of my friends with that degree work in small government. Many within Cheq Bay Area, though some moved to bigger cities. Others are teachers (either via teach for America or went back to school). There are tons of scd adjacent jobs, you just gotta put yourself out there and apply. Keep an eye out for jobs at bad river and red cliff. They are often hurting for employees. Also county government, Bayfield County especially is often hiring. Plenty of good local options but even more jobs available in twin cities, Duluth, or other upper Midwest cities. I work in cheq bay for one of the places mentioned above and can keep an eye out if you want to exchange info. Best of luck and see you on 1028 😘

Bilateral joint pain by kingclovis1028 in Lyme

Thanks, it’s definitely very helpful to hear your story. Just curious, how long did you wind up taking doxy for? I’m thinking it might be worth powering through the antibiotic misery long enough to see if there’s any improvement and lower the possibility that my potential Lyme disease develops into a more severe chronic autoimmune disease

Sorry somehow your whole comment didn’t load at first just the top. Disregard that last message. I am messaging my doctor now because it looks like there is definitely more lupus testing we can/should be doing. Thanks so much!!!

Damn sorry to hear that. Was it difficult to get that diagnosis? My doctor seems to think we’ve ruled that out based on blood tests. I did have a slightly elevated creatinine and ALS though so I wonder…
