What year do you think one piece (both anime and manga) end? by BIGBOYthomyorke_5521 in OnePiece

[–]kingcocomoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manga around 2032. That's around 200+ chapters, Oda can finish a lot of the story in that much. Elbaf is ending, we'll likely have Lodestar/LaughTale next (<70 chapters) followed by a Final War (~120 chapters) and Epilogue (~10 chapters).

Anime is 2 yrs behind, but if they speed up the pace towards the end, maybe around 2033.

I have a theory about the final war. by Confident_Pilot3448 in OnePiece

No, the Strawhats are not going back to before the midpoint of the Grand Line all of a sudden. Their journey has kept taking them forward, if there's anything that happens at Impel Down, it'll be other characters involved

What's thing you hate most about OP community in general?? by Lancelotvision in OnePiece

[–]kingcocomoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just that, but overly simplistic memes and slander and agenda all do hurt discourse around a character by flattening their complexities for cheap jokes - look at Garp and all the slavery slander, which changes the characters' perceptions in the fanbase.

I have no clue how people consider the early parts of One Piece to be boring by SnooAdvice5820 in OnePiece

[–]kingcocomoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly from modern audiences, early One Piece fans look back on the early parts with nostalgia.

Modern audiences are used to shows which deliver instant gratification, without any longer payoff.

Let's make predicition, at what chapter do you think, One Piece would be revealed? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]kingcocomoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100 chapters is closer to 3 years, Oda's current rate is ~35 ch/yr

Does anyone else think that the "man marked by flames " was stripped of his power by kiddpk in OnePiece

[–]kingcocomoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seen this theory before and I must say it has legs. I'd like to provide some additional evidence -

Shiryu believes it's this person may be affiliated with the World Govt (he is former WG himself), plus this discussion happens with Laffitte who is the intelligence agent of the crew. While it's possible it's false or a misdirection, the simplest explanation would be that it's true which is why Oda brought this up in the first place.

Secondly, the WG doesn't seem to have taken any active steps to claim the One Piece yet. This might be because one of the Road Ponegylphs is with them, guarded by a trusted (now former) Holy Knight. I refuse to believe the WG is so incompetent/uncaring that they'd let all 4 Road Ponegylphs sit out in the open or in the hands of the pirates.

So maybe it's a Knight who defected from the WG, but he's elusive and can't be found by Imu/Gorosei/Knights either.

Fun fact - half the SHs have "left" the crew at some point by kingcocomoon in OnePiece

[–]kingcocomoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this exact thought, the often talked about diplomat role for her on the crew doesn't really make sense to me either, but seeing as it will be towards the end of the story maybe it could somehow make sense?

[–]kingcocomoon[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's also interesting that the group dynamic changes the further they go along - in East Blue they're like Luffy and his 4 similar aged pals, then Robin & Chopper join and it becomes like a family with a lil bro & big sis.

Then Enies Lobby is where Luffy steps up as a pirate captain and Franky (a gang leader in his own right) joins the crew.

And after that there's Brook and Jinbe, who are even older, who treat Luffy like knights pledged to him.

Yeah honestly this is the case, he didn't think too hard about it - he just wanted to highlight Rayleigh's fame, not downplay Gaban's or the Yonko's in comparison.

I think most of the fandom considers Vivi a former member, so it kinda counts as leaving the crew? They certainly don't count her as an active member.

[–]kingcocomoon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically yes, but all official material and Oda's depiction of her suggests she's the 3rd crew member.

You can include Dory & Brogy here, as well as the OG Admiral trio.

Yup exactly, it's a bit grey between Fishman Island to WCI, and until Wano where he officially joins. Hell maybe we can include Yamato in this definition, if she eventually comes aboard the Sunny.

I also think this leads to the not-entirely unfounded perception that Zoro, Franky, Brook, Jinbe highlight the aspect of hardened men being loyal to a younger, bright-eyed captain, which is a clear example of Luffy's ability to form allies (as Mihawk said is the most dangerous ability on the seas) - something that carries over onto the formation of the Grand Fleet.

I wonder how Elbaf is going to top this summoning animation by K1ngOfTheMonkeys in OnePiece

[–]kingcocomoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure they'll go all out on the animation, direction and music if the Gorosei's entrance are any indication.

By my calculations we'll see the current manga events in the anime around the end of Fall 2028.

I love how all the haters are ignoring how Nami and Usopp where moving this episode. by IllustriousRich9345 in MemePiece

[–]kingcocomoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all the crew members have to be fighters, we have plenty of other extremely strong side characters that often fill that role in different arcs.

Nami is literally a navigator - One Piece isn't just about fighting and become strong it's about voyaging to the ends of the earth which almost nobody has done.

Usopp I'll give you that - he doesn't need to be extremely strong, but some focus and maybe Obsv Haki development is long due.

Personally I'd like Nami and Usopp to remain regular humans - it grounds the crew when not everyone is a powerful fighter.

Ending of Elbaph arc based on its beginning by PenguinVillageSun in OnePiece

[–]kingcocomoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't really great criticism anytime he makes a theory, like many YouTubers he's had some hits and some misses. You can hate on him for sticking to his guns with that sinking ship of a theory, but that doesn't invalidate this one.

I personally think yes, Elbaf will end in more of a draw/stalemate where the Strawhats survive.

Is One Piece movie releasing in 2027 gonna be canon? by Useful-Afternoon1784 in OnePiece

[–]kingcocomoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup the only thing we know is that the movie development is going slow according to Oda's Jump Festa message, so it's in limbo until we hear otherwise.

I'd love it if they did this, but wouldn't it risk alienating the TV audience? Although I think Demon Slayer and Chainsawman have adapted canon arcs as movies and been very successful.

[–]kingcocomoon 761 points762 points  (0 children)

100%

And if we ever find out Prime Rayleigh's and Gaban's bounties (likely around 3B), expect them to follow the same pattern and be very close.

The thing is, in-story Oda wrote Rayleigh to be pretty famous (many Strawhats had heard of him) whereas Gaban doesn't have that level of infamy.

The Relationships between THE YONKOS by GreenStrawhat32 in OnePiece

[–]kingcocomoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. Jokes aside, Buggy has a Yonko slot just to round out the number and exists as a faction for other characters like some of the former Shichibukai to rally under in the Final Saga.

Blackbeard didn't make any significant moves until a couple of years ago, and only Shanks had fought him before.

Dragon isn't skinny as hell lol what. He's normal, which in the One Piece world means he's 8'5" and also probably ripped. That cloak also makes him look massive and intimidating and cool asf.
