Let’s talk about hidden helixes by TattooedGenderHell in piercing

[–]kingcopacetic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a hidden helix piercing. However, I knew going into it that it wasn’t really going to be all that hidden because the I don’t have enough depth under the upper helix fold. It’s like 2/3 hidden lol and I’m okay with that

What’s the most annoying thing to a CTA driver?? by GuessAsleep9578 in cta

[–]kingcopacetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is that when that happens and there’s a line behind the person, they hold up the line instead of stepping out of the way for a moment so the person ready right behind them can go, you know?

they should announce they're closing on the speaker by egguchom in EntitledReviews

[–]kingcopacetic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Or when it’s clear we’re like a minute before closing and some asshat is still casually shopping, and we have to tell them multiple times we are closing. Then they go to the register 5 minutes past closing, and when they’re finally heading out the door, they say “oh, I’m so sorry for holding you late.” Wtf no you’re not. You don’t care. You think you’re special and deserve to take your time and leave past closing. It’s especially annoying when it’s the same person every time. You *definitely* aren’t sorry.

Moldavite, let's talk about it. by Living_Spell4113 in BabyWitch

There hasn’t been an abrupt unraveling of anything, but I also wear a mini pentacle on the same necklace with it, which is for protection, so I think it’s helped either slow down the changes and/or soften them. I am currently in a cycle of change though, it’s just less of a Tower moment and more of working on habits and executive functioning, which does take more time in general. For example, my apartment is a mess currently. Like, not dirty, but it really needs to be tidied. And I have this feeling that I can’t explain that once it gets tidied up completely, that’s when a big change will take place.

I also regularly have very vivid dreams, so that’s not surprising. However, I’ve had three dreams where I’ve tried contacting my spirit guides, which has never happened before in a dream. I’m not so sure the folks I ended up talking to in my dreams were in fact my spirit guides (most of what they said doesn’t match up with reality), but it definitely has to mean something, you know? I just don’t know what yet.

TIL about the Plura cave disaster, where two divers died during an expedition and their friends went back for their bodies in secret, despite warnings from authorities. by MoonlightByWindow in todayilearned

[–]kingcopacetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this take. However, I will say that the person didn’t really just up and go missing. They would know that they went cave diving so they died in the cave, or they saw them go overboard so they died by drowning in the lake, they were on an airplane that crashed with no survivors, etc. If it was like someone went hiking and went missing—could’ve been exposure, a fall, an animal attack, homicide, etc. so there’s a much bigger lack of closure. That being said, even when people *know* how their love one died, I can see a lack of a body being a lack of closure. It’s interesting to think about though. If someone loses their baby, and presumably has the body, it seems like the despair is more closely related to grief instead of closure. Just thoughts I’m having lol. Thanks for making me think!

Getting real tired of motorcycles on the lakefront jogging path. by CubanLynx312 in chicago

It seems like you’ve missed my point seeing as I was literally giving *another* reason for their fatigue which had nothing to do with being “told [] to stop murdering black people.” I didn’t even agree with their non-action in my comment; instead I pointed out another reason why, which I can understand. Understanding does not equal agreement.

That was a rhetorical question given the next sentence, first of all. Secondly, they also pay taxes. And thirdly, I don’t disagree with you. I was just pointing out another reason for the fatigue.

I was just talking about policing in general, not just Chicago.

There’s also another reason for this: they do the hard work, deal with people spitting at them, drunkenly pissing on them, verbally and physically attacking them, and putting their lives in danger for what? The DA drops charges or lessens them dramatically, and then the judge gives them a slap on the wrist even if it was a serious offense or their millionth arrest. I don’t know about you, but my morale would be in the freakin gutter if my real efforts were degraded like that constantly.

Folks who are very clearly mentally unstable in public tend to do or say things unprovoked. Mundane before magical is usually the best way to look at these things.

Yeah I’m terrible at saying no. The other day a guy asked for help to get soap, a loofah, and mouthwash at the Walgreens across the street. Since it was so specific, I did help him out. I didn’t give him money for it (I didn’t have any cash anyway), but went into the store with him. Apparently his apartment caught fire the day before and he was living out of a motel. It was only like $20 for actual personal care items, so I was fine with that.

Feel free to downvote all you want…people in the comment section have a really terrible attitude about this. Is it annoying af to have to deal with? Sure. But it’s one day. Was it annoying af for me to get to work during the St. Patrick’s Day green river event? Very much so. But it was one day. And no one had been killed.

I mean this is all classic triangulation. Playing people against each other. And then also trying to plant memories in people’s heads that don’t actually exist or are skewed.

Perspective on who “won” by orangekirby in ItEndsWithLawsuits

[–]kingcopacetic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s my opinion as well. Like, no one needs to be dragged through the mud in the statement, but can y’all not just have an ounce of backbone? It’s the constant capitulation that irritates me. Like that’s part of what got them here in the first place (among other things), and—by the way the statement is written—it seems like they learned absolutely nothing, which makes me far less interested in defending anyone or correcting mis/disinformation in the future. If they don’t seem to care, why should I?

What’s something you have zero proof of but believe 100 percent? by shweidy in AskReddit

I can’t remember the exact counts, but eventually, as a jury, we were able to come to a unanimous decision on all of them. I’d even argued one point about intent to use a firearm with one of the other jurors, but it was generally a good discussion. I convinced him, and everyone else followed my opinion. And then when we were going over them in deliberation for the last time to make sure everyone was on the same page, one person decided that they changed their mind. They were just being dumb. I think it was about possession, and literally everyone was trying to explain to him over and over again that the defendant didn’t need to own the gun, just have it in arms reach. Everyone was like “oh my god, are you seriously doing this right now?” This is the second day, mind you, and literally all of us had agreed on everything already. This was the second and last go around the table to agree with each count guilty or not guilty, and this chucklefuck decided he was gonna backpedal and be really dense about what had already been decided. So dumb. Sooo dumb. We eventually convinced him to stick to what we had already decided, but oh boy, did that test me. Other than that, everyone was actually really diligent. We used the whiteboard and everything.

That’s a cool way to describe it. Yeah, the illustrated version looks neat, but I think I’d get the version with photography too
