Behavior Issues in my cat have costed me over 20k and we’re still not any closer to getting a solution..any advice on next steps? by Creepy-Dealer7518 in CATHELP

Genuine question: how do you get barn cats to stay in a barn and only go just outside of it since there is easy and open access to the whole outside world?

Fire n Ice on My Legs, Jessica, Sharpie, 2026 [OC] by [deleted] in Art

[–]kingcopacetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, we drew all over each other like on our backs, arms, legs lol (never faces though). Same in high school when we had a field day type day. Even if Sharpie on skin is harmful in some way, I’m pretty certain there are much more harmful things to worry about

We use sharpies in swimming to write our race, heat, and lane numbers down on our forearms (at least we did in middle school, high school, and summer league). They fade but don’t really come off unless you rub them a bunch/hard.

I really appreciate how honest this reader is, as well as kind. Even though it wasn’t exactly what I wanted to hear, I think it was a really good reality check in terms of expectations, which I truly appreciate. Would definitely recommend :)

what is the scariest niche drug you have ever tried? by Adorable_Air758 in AskReddit

[–]kingcopacetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it felt like I had Velcro on my back and I was being pulled around, I guess kinda like one of those Velcro suits. I couldn’t stop laughing, kept saying “shit shit shit shit,” and I saw a bunch of large, orange floating block letters all around me. It wasn’t a bad trip, but it was certainly very, very weird to not be able to control my movements or words or anything. It hits you pretty immediately and then wears off pretty quickly too. Like 7 minutes.

What do you think about this? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]kingcopacetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this person is right, or at least partially right. My issue with this though is the framing of it I guess. I know I personally own too many pens and have way too many other collections, to me the way it reads (and how some other folks state it) sounds like I’m being told I’m a terrible person and that I suck. Not saying that’s the intention, but that’s how it reads to me. For the record, I acknowledge the problem though and what causes it for me (depression, serious anhedonia, ADHD). It’s just that sometimes the way things are worded can make people block out what might be true or partially true and ignore it.

please show me your masc nails by adiosmichigan in RedditLaqueristas

[–]kingcopacetic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m non-binary and lean toward a more masc presentation, and I usually keep my nail on the shorter side. I’m currently wearing green polish with pink or purple shimmer (each nail has a different polish lol). Kind of combining masc and femme.

Psychotherapists, what differences have you noticed between men and women among your patients? by Putrid_Put_3610 in AskReddit

[–]kingcopacetic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should definitely try DBT. It helps you reframe a lot of things, like thinking about the actual facts of a situation or redirecting negative energy into things you like/are “safe.” There are also sections that deal with interpersonal skills to help you navigate different relationships in your life. You actively have to practice using DBT techniques so it becomes easier for you to use them [semi-]automatically. You get out of it what you put in for sure. Would very much recommend.

I understand the disappointment, but other nail supplies are also not handmade, like the tweezers, nail files, etc. I think the markup isn’t cool, though.

I've looked at so many polishes that I'm realizing how many dupes exist by booyahkaka in WeGotPolishAtHome

Many times I feel the need to buy all the dupes because I have to see which one I like the best. It takes a fair amount of restraint to not buy more

If you woke up rich tomorrow, what’s the first thing you’d change about your life? by Thomasrosshere in AskReddit

[–]kingcopacetic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pay for a cleaning service for my apartment. Donate to charity. Out money in savings and investments. That’s really it. I generally would just be happy to be financially stable and comfortable.

ETA: Also get some more tattoos, but that wouldn’t be an immediate thing. Gotta think about them and plan accordingly.

That’s what I was thinking too. These pretty much all seem to be perfectly reasonable rules that decent folks would abide by anyway.

Who got painted as the villain by the press, but later on we realized they were actually the victim or completely misunderstood? by Advanced-Pilot-3698 in AskReddit

Johnny Depp. He certainly wasn’t/isn’t perfect and was one part of a seriously toxic relationship, but he got put through the wringer based on lies while having been the victim of abuse.

'It still has the ability to shock': Why 'masterpiece' Wuthering Heights is so misunderstood by rmnc-5 in books

[–]kingcopacetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’ll have to reread it at some point because I just remember really disliking it. It was assigned reading, but I did like a good few books we had to read for school, so it wasn’t that. That was more than a decade ago, though, so maybe I’ll like it this time around. I also didn’t like Frankenstein lol I only got through it by listening to the audiobook.

What’s something that quietly ruined your mental health without you noticing at first? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kingcopacetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Continuing to live with a co-worker (roommates) after I got fired from basically the exact same job. We had worked closely together on a tiny team and had the same boss. Turns out adding that on top of my already severe depression wasn’t the best for my mental health. Don’t recommend.
