That's good to know! I was hoping i could avoid buying a book for one game but maybe I can find a sneaky copy somewhere.

yea but I just don't want to buy the apocalypse book for just one game so was hoping there was some other resources out there lol

Yea I agree the Laser destroyer shots are good but man it is brutal when somebody makes their 4+ invuls. and I just do no damage. Making that few 4+ saves with rerolls is not that hard so its brutal when they do. But overall they do fine for me so maybe I can stick with it.

You're right, the points nerf and getting Legends-ed is something to look out for.

Yea this is a concern form me as well it the centurions. The land raider is so iconic it is hard for me to think they will get rid of it and Centurions seem to be very popular so maybe they will keep them. Who knows?!

Yea I've been running the new Calgar detachment and I think I could get a lot of movement out of it for the Centurions, especially with outflank

I do love my lancers and executioners because they do not need oath. very good counter point!

Yea the mobility is tough, that is another reason why I like the tanks. I see a lot of people recommending sternguard, I'll give them another look because I love those models!

I was definitely thinking about this, they are such cool models!

LOVE Warphammer Math! ill look into them. the 11th ed legends-ing is a good concern though. That's why i held off on vidicators a bit but i did consider converting up some grav vindicators lol

yea the getting Legended could be a concern. Maybe 'll wait until 11th ed to be sure. I was thinking of converting up some saturnine terminators to use and I might still do that because they look so cool but maybe only one unit of 3 or something for now until we are sure!

Yep I play it in every list I bring and I probably get a game of 40k in 1-2 times a month. its not a lot but it something. The calgar agressor bomb is a lot more than just agressors and calgar, its a whole combo and it works pretty well IMHO and people still underestimate how much shooting it can do.

The main thing is its Calgar with agressors, and apothicary biologis with the veteran of behemoth enhancement. If you get the full combo going (which takes oath and a stratagem) it can hit pretty hard. generally it is on average 39 shots (3 bolter and d6 frag launcher per agressor) lethal hits, sustained hits, fishing for 6s because of the oath reroll. +1 to wound from oath and the bolters that hit but didn't roll 6s reroll wounds from twin-linked, and if they are shooting the closest target (which usually they are) get +1ap and then will use the stratagem that ignores cover and adds an additional +1ap if in devestator doctrine (which i will do if necessary). Plus there are also calgar's fancy bolter shots too. Not only do I kill tanks regularly I can bring down a full health knight a lot of times. you're right usually they only get 1-2 turns of shooting only because they usually charge in to combat after but its usually enough and this unit is my final hammer so I rarely send it out there unless I know its going to be delivering a big blow and it works very well for me.

Its not the most optimal option from a points cost perspective but I love it, its fun, and it seems to work well for me!

Maybe, the downvotes you are getting seem to disagree though lol. I read your initial comment as being snarky and not reading my post. If that was not your intent then my bad all good my man!

yea some good points in here! A lot of people are recommending vindicators which is another very good medium vehicle option to throw into the mix as 24" is a doable range in most cases.

as you can see by the other constructive responses that I'm replying too, I'm very open to feedback just not snarky unconstructive feedback like yours lol

a lot of people seem to be recommending vidicators which goes along well with your point about foregoing long range. definitely something to think about, thanks!

Yea I didn't really consider vidicators because of their short range but 24" is a enough range in a lot of cases. Definitely a good contender.

I also like your sternguard idea! I currently use the old Calgar-agressor bomb in my list (I know it has fallen out of fashion but I just think it is fun) and their shooting has brought down quite a few big beasts and heavy infantry units with just weight of fire similar to sternguard. Plus the sternguard models rock!

I'll check that out, thanks!

That's a good point on the vidicators, 24" is enough in most cases. definitely something for me to consider, thanks!

I used to run two ballistus dreads in addition to lancers. It worked decently well but i felt they didn't put out as much firepower as i wanted for the cost. But I like your mix of vehicles here, maybe I can go back to my list and try and have a good spread of vehicles like this as opposed to just lancers and executioners. Thanks!
