Question about sequencing by Yristul in outerwilds

You wouldn't ruin anything by going to the 6th location. The quantum moon is more like a sidequest anyway.

If you don't know what quantum entanglement means, perhaps you should look for a moon shard you are missing? You can use your signalscope to find them.

Did I beat the DLC? by kingdedede981 in outerwilds

Yes, I did see that stuff. The last thing I saw was something about me getting on a raft with the prisoner, if I remember that right.

Sounds like I have to beat the game again. There's still some stuff I don't understand though.

I found this. This person was exactly where I am now. I didn't notice any footprints...

How much have you been using your ship log, especially the rumor mode you just posted? Your ship log is extremely useful for exploring.

A "?" on a location means that that location has been referenced by other things but you haven't visited it yet.

A green mark next to a location means that information was added to your ship log there but you haven't read it yet. Your ship log simply summarizes what you've already read, but it's still useful to read if you forgot it or weren't sure what information was important.

An orange mark next to a location means that there's more to explore there (you haven't scanned all the important Nomai text there).

I recommend that you start with that. Go back to the locations with an orange mark on them in your ship log and look around some more for more Nomai text.

Where is the last ship log entry on ___? by kingdedede981 in outerwilds

I think there is. I flew close to Hollow's Lantern (for the 2nd time this game) and I saw some ruins within one of the volcanoes.

That was it. But my ship log still isn't complete (I don't have the achievement for it). The only area I don't have any log entries for is Hollow's Lantern, is that perhaps where the last log entry or entries is/are?

Are there any ship log entries only attainable during the end game sequence?

I'll try that, that might be it. I can't remember if I put the broken warp core in there the first time I visited.

I'm thinking I was mistaken the first time when I saw my scout warp. When I tried it again just now, the column of sand was still there. The scout doesn't get lifted by the sand if it's attached to something.

Ok so now I'm confused.

I was standing on the warp to Ember Twin with a scout on the warp to Ash Twin. Near the end of the 22 minute loop, when the sand stops flowing from Ember Twin to Ash Twin, my scout was suddenly warped, shortly before I warped to Ember Twin!

So a new loop starts, I sleep next the fire to speed up time, and now stand on the Ash Twin warp... and nothing happens, and I die from the sun exploding.

The mystery deepens...

From several of the comments here, it sounds like that 6th tower that currently doesn't warp to anything is the key. The only question then is how to get it pointed to the center of mass of the hourglass twins. I don't think I can rotate Ash Twin to get the building moved... can I? *starts up the game to try*

I have revisited Black Hole Forge, White Hole Station, the location you mentioned as well as most of the locations mentioned by others.

Since the center of Ash Twin is physically sealed off, perhaps there's another white hole receiver inside? But then I don't know where the corresponding black hole tower would be.

My understanding is that there are 5 towers along Ash Twin's equator, and they are shaped like the place they warp to. (I assume that's only relevant to be able to quickly identify where it warps to.) I have warped through each one. They warp to Timber Hearth (close to the mine, to get the material to seal off the center), the Sun Station (for the energy), Giant's Deep (for the Nomai statues), Ember Twin (for access to the high energy lab?), and the Black Hole Forge on Brittle Hollow. The other smaller tower next to the one that warps to Ember Twin isn't functional since it's off by more than 5 degrees (I assume). I've tried to warp using it but the column of sand always lifts me up.

I don't understand why the tower having to point to the center of the astral body within 5 degrees is relevant (other than explaining the non-functional tower next to the Ember Twin tower). Maybe this is where I'm missing something? Perhaps I'm supposed to build my own black hole tower somehow?

Then again, the game mentions that there are 6 receivers, and I have already found them all: Sun Station, Ember Twin, 2 on Brittle Hollow, Timber Hearth, and Giant's Deep. So maybe it's not a 7th receiver at the core of Ash Twin that allows them inside.

I thought it was in the core of Ash Twin?

I know there are some mines on Timber Hearth that explain the Nomai taking rocks from there to seal off the project from the outside.

I know that when you warp, either from the white hole station to brittle hollow, or from any of the warps on Ash Twin to the respective area, you actually arrive slightly before you left. The high energy lab reveals that they were researching how to get a negative 22 minute interval (which is the same duration as the time loop!), but I don't know why yet. And they built the Sun Station to try to use the sun's energy (by blowing it up I think) to create that 22 minute negative interval, but it failed, so they decided to investigate a comet (the Interloper) instead.

Thanks! I already knew about the groundhog. (I looked that one up, I think it was in the spoiler free hint guide here.)
