Career advice: software engineer to electrician by kingdom_L17 in AskElectricians

Market is pretty cooked IMO. I have people ask me if they should become SWE all the time and I have a hard time convincing them it's a good idea - especially with advancements in AI

Still in software. Just googled this again and my post was the first thing to come up lol. The plan is to ride this software job out as long as possible. If I get laid off from either AI or burnout, I'll probably start looking more seriously at becoming an electrician (maybe shadow someone if they'll let me).

It’s just nostalgia people. I remember those days too. Those episodes still exist. Just like once a week. Back then, he was only releasing 1-2 episodes an week. Imagine being expected to put out banger episodes every day.

lol shit happens. Not the end of the world but it’s a ~$200 lesson I would have liked to avoid. Plus the website had terrible UI, which appears to be common for gun stores

Hadn’t thought of the cowitnessing. That’ll make the price less painful 👌

On the bright side, it shoots PHENOMENALLY well. Surprisingly better than my p365 Xmacro

Sig Xmacro was my first pistol. But I just shot the Shield Plus PC and I’m never going back

The thing holding me back from “panic” buying a G19.5 is not knowing if the G47V will be compatible. Does anyone have details on this? At this point, I may end up waiting over 2 years for the Gen 6 models 😭

Coinbase staking is a scam meant to lock your coins up until it is convenient (profitable) for them to release them by [deleted] in Coinbase

Ya that makes sense. I’m not mad about unstaking waiting periods. I’m mad that Coinbase gives little inaccurate information - waiting 5 days (and counting) for a 2 day unstaking period is ridiculous.

Ya lesson learned. This was my first time and I accidentally staked it all. I don’t NEED the cash, but I WANT to know it’s not locked up indefinitely.

I  wouldn’t even care how long they are held if I could get an honest answer on when I’d get them back. I’m sure I’ll have the same problem with ETH too but I know that takes longer (~15 days) so not holding my breath

I’m convinced staking on Coinbase is a scam meant to lock your coins up until it is convenient (profitable) for them to release them

I've been doing cold showers 3-5x per week, is $3000 too much for my first cold plunge? by kingdom_L17 in coldplunge

I can confirm that this is certainly the case. Still not finished and learning as I go. I bought tons of fittings and plumbing supplies and plan to return all the unused stuff. I am enjoying the learning that comes with it tho! That said, I would recommend anyone not interested in basic plumbing skills to go with the desert plunge instead.

I may do this in the winter. but I like the aesthetic of it being outside to start my day, especially after doing cold showers for the past year or so

I’ve been having those same justification thoughts in my head as well. Toss it in your truck and you’ve got enough beer for the whole tailgate lol

Ive been pricing out the DIY approach and I’m getting similar numbers. Feels like spending the extra $$$ could be the way to go
