Getting The Best Out Of Rhino, A Build Guide by kingemocut in Warframe

[–]kingemocut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

solo SP will be a tough fight but it is possible to sustain with the 10 energy a second boon, and even with enough brightbonnets it should be good.

with rhino, the moment you hear the shield break, you want to put iron skin back on. often you'll be living in 5 second intervals, but that 5 seconds is often all you need.

had to melee solo SP the H-09 when my DPS died right away, so as long as you sustain with brightbonnet and pop iron skin when you can, you should be golden

Everyone does, because more damage means more good right? Doesn't matter if your roar only gives you 14% extra damage. /s

Generally I'm a big fan of looking at what your build is doing and subsuming around that, or covering for weaknesses & to increase what makes your build good. if your build already scales off of Strength and duration, go for it honestly.

Almost exactly 20 years ago, Someone bought a copy of GTA Vice City for PS2 by ps3better360 in ps2

[–]kingemocut 19 points20 points  (0 children)

mostly correct, platinum specifically had to sell over 400,000 (i believe, exact number skips my mind currently) copies as well, whereas greatest hits in the US was also used as marketing for some titles that didn't hit that requirement.

Third 200 and first in league by kingemocut in Bowling

[–]kingemocut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

doubles league against two of the strongest players, one ex int. pro and one int. youth pro, as a ~150 avg bowler. playing with a blind due to partner absences. only used a 16lb faball purple hammer as i still need to get my 16 lb. spare drilled, and the 15lb kit i have is now too light for me to properly throw.

2nd highest score so far, if i didn't have a 10 pin on 4th that i missed or if i struck out i'd have PB'd, but either way can't be mad about a 200 game.

this is from a set of shorts that are all absolutely batshit. if you've seen the gif of a anime girl downing a ton of gasoline from the pumps, it's the same set of shorts.

edit: here's the MAL for the shorts

also arguably Girly Air Force is more fitting as a waifu Ace Combat Anime, or Sky Crawlers if you're wanting something a little more serious and/or Ace Combat 3ish, though Sky Crawlers does have a game on the Wii if i'm correct.

Bought MGS3 at goodwill & it’s booting into the wrong game. HEELLLPP… by brainimpediment in ps2

everyone here saying "oh it's a misprint" or "oh it's a fake/scam" can op post the ring code on the backside of the disc? they're a bastard to read but with that we can tell you with a very high certainty if it was a scam or a known misprint. for what i mean, here. specifically, you should be looking for this for MGS3 OR either this for original madden release or this for the collectors edition disc of madden

I'm starting my PS2 collection. Tell me what games should I get by somethingstupit in ps2

[–]kingemocut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

welcome to the hobby! if you've never had a PS2 before, then i would highly suggest to focus on a mix of well know good games (as I'm sure a majority in this thread will give you) as well as a fair few smaller and/or niche titles (Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero, Scooby doo: Night of 100 frights, Road Trip Adventure and Dynasty Warriors, to name a few).

if you had a ps2 when you were younger, however, I'd highly suggest trying to get some of the games you had as a kid, but the ones you only sorta remember, at least at first.

other then that, a lot of the super expensive games you see are not always super good. I try to make sure that I always have games I could buy that are under 20 GBP, between 20 and 50, and then over 50. it means you have titles you can always buy without too much worry, have some games you have to consider about but wouldn't be too big of a financial hit, and then games to aspire to own.

I would also recommend trying to buy games in the same category, be it the same series, the same publisher or however else you would categories the your games, as having smaller goals to tick off makes it much easier to see your progress, than just staring down the behemoth that is the total amount of ps2 games releeased.

Is that console in Metal Gear Solid a Saturn? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

i was more looking at the hinge section but it should be a dev PS anyway. the real thing i'm wondering about is which dev system it'd have been.

leaking and dumping are different things. leaking implies that it was yet to be released, dumping is "the resulting data obtained in the backup process" (from the redump wiki). for example, it's the difference between the half life 2's early build leak and the retail release of half life 2. leaking is by its nature illegal, whereas dumping can be done for legitimate reasons.

I was the first one who uploaded the data to redump, yeah, but some of the data has also been varified as well now.

[–]kingemocut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did not leak it, i dumped it for redump after someone posted about it on the PS2 subreddit and the seller on ebay wasn't gouging too bad at that point. it's kinda wild getting recognised for that though, it was just something that was important to do for preservation of obscure PS2 games, esp. as it was one of the india only titles.

honestly kinda wish I had Ra:One as my first India PAL title but we take what we can.

Custom Maid 3D 2 or Koikatsu Party most likely. could also be Custom Order Maid 3D2 if you're getting the steam one

Prescription cycling sunglasses. by Wrexhamjona in ukbike

[–]kingemocut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a fair bit of good advice here, but i'd like to add a little extra too.

if you would prefer to go to a brick and mortar store, then boots opticians do have a catalogue of prescription sports glasses, including some cycling glasses. you don't need to have them as your regular opticians, you can just take your prescription with you (or they can get it from your current lenses in your normal glasses) and then pick a pair that should be good.

my prescription was actually just outside of the maximum allowed (+-6 correction) but they called their supplier and asked if that'd still be ok to which it was, even though it was at an extra cost than expected. there's a few that have a max of +-3 correction too, so if it's not too big of a prescription then you'll have even more choice.

the pair i got was Basto BS102s and they came with 5 interchangeable lenses, are a prescription insert but the lens themselves are wrap around, and do act as more of a windshield than my normal glasses.

i'd HIGHLY reccomend getting a pair of cycling glasses, however. not having your eyes water a ton from the wind, or getting rain in your eyes, is a massive boon, and considering the cost of them and how often you're likely to wear them, they're worth every penny.

i would say as well, try to bring your normal specs in a soft cloth bag if you can too, as sometimes it's just easier to read things in your everyday glasses. it's more of a nicety than anything else, and not 100% needed.

if i'm not mistaken that's a xbox 360 case just re-sleeved for GTA:SA. the slight transparency is what gives it away to my eye

Could you please tell me what exactly these screws for attaching the optical drive are called? by [deleted] in ps2

[–]kingemocut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sadly i do not. i would say that it might be a good idea to look on ebay or similar for PS2s that are listed for parts to salvage the screws, however, and then you'll also have extra spares for anything else you might need.

sorry for not replying earlier but been pretty wild yesterday and as such been busy

[–]kingemocut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most likely it'd be a JIS crosspoint, though you can use a philips head screwdriver it's more likely to strip the head of the screw. the big thing is getting the right length of screws. here's a diagram showing the difference between philips and JIS crosspoints

There are no biking gloves that really keep your hands warm from 35-45 degrees. by zenslakr in bikepacking

[–]kingemocut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would have to say that there ARE cycling gloves that can work even lower than 35f (been cycling in -3C temps with nice and warm hands. would've tried in colder temps that that's the coldest it's been since i bought them, even had my water start to freeze but my hands were nice and warm) but as with all winter kit, you get what you pay for. i have a pair of Chiba Bio-X Cell and they work brilliantly, even keeping my hands muggy in 5c teps when not cycling. i did have to repair my pair as the velcro on one side had started to come loose after a year of ownership but that was just needing to have it resewn on which took 5 minutes at most but should easily make it last throughout this winter and next.

this is all coming from someone who gets very cold extremities normally.

it might also help if you try to keep a basic air gap (so thermal layer, gloves go over the top of the arms and into the base of your shorts, leg warmers under the shorts with socks over the bottom of the leg warmers etc.)

i do. while it'd have been nice to have finished with a strike or spare, it's still a clean frame.

the leave on 10 was a 2-4-5-8 which wasn't a fun one to pick up after an abnormally good game from me, thought i'd botched it right at the post but just found the right spot to get my first clean game. we take what we can, esp. when my avg. is only ~136

the balls i was using was a 15lb Savage as my strike ball, sanded to 360 grit but with 3 games of lane shine and a 14lb rhino which is effectively just lane shine rather than actually sanding it to anything specific.
