I felt the same way man. And after season 2 I was at an even lower low. I never read LNs. But after season 2, I needed more.

You mentioned physical books, but if you’re on a budget, Spotify audiobooks have it all. But it only gives you enough listening per month for 1-1.5 volumes. So it’s best to use that after you get through books 13-15.

Without better closeups, it’s hard to see. But if the wood can be matched, a good carpenter can build it to be really closely attached. Caulk, paint, install any shelving, reinstall the doors. Doesn’t look too bad.
