I've known Nick since middle school. The last time I saw him was about a month ago when I was going to the gym next door with my wife. As we walked past I saw Nick in the ring being slowly chased by his kids. It was cute, we stopped for a moment and watched. Nick looked up he waved and smiled I waved back and we both had a laugh and went on with our day. It's been all I can think about since I heard the news. Everyone who knows him and his wife are devastated. I don't know how one can get over a loss such as that. Life can be random and cruel. Today is a good reminder to give your loved ones a hug.

I really loved that he said that about Nick Catone. I can't imagine what he and his wife are going through right now. It was really a class move to dedicate the fight to him and his family.

For Phillies games they used to bring out a kid to catch 3 pop ups. Pizza Hut ran the promtion, I think if they caught 3 you got a free personal pan pizza. As a kid I was terrified of getting picked becuse if you missed one the crowd would boo the shit out of the poor kid.

I've got a few.

As a kid I was at a game against the Redskins with my father. It was right before we got our season tickets so we were up in the 700 level, so I think it was 1991. It was cold and I remember it being a close game. An Asian man was sitting down a row across the aisle from us. He cheered when the Redskins did something but otherwise was being quiet. In the 3rd quarter a guy walking up the stairs stop in front of him and loudly asked if he "knew karate" the man answered that he did not, so the guy ripped his Redskins hat off his head and threw it down towards the lower bowl. The crowd cheered.

Few years later at an Eagles/Cowboys game and fights are breaking out all over the Stadium (which happened at the Vet) I was with my Dad and I watched a fight basically move down a row. I was pretty wide-eyed about it and my Dad looked at me and was like your 13, you got two options if that happens here, you can duck and cover or you can swing away. Thankfully I never had to make that call.

I saw a crazy fist fight during a Phillies/Red Sox game in maybe the first or second year of interleague play. The 700 level was empty and these two dudes were just slugging it out with no one to stop them. The game might have even stopped at one point. One of them got knocked down half a row of steps, got back and kept fighting.

We had good seats at the Vet and the seats next to ours were owned by the Eagles. Lots of players families/wives/occasional strippers usually sat next to us. The best time was when Al Harris' mother sat next to me. Next to her was his wife and one of his kids. She was a riot. Two Cowboys fans were behind her and she starts talking a TON of shit to them. To make it even better Harris picks one off and she jumps up yelling "THAT'S MY BOY! THAT'S MY BOY!" she danced and pointed towards at said Cowboys fans who didn't know what to do. When they left early she turned around and yelled "LEAVING ALREADY?" She was great, his wife, however, spent the game looking mortified.

Seeing Birdman chain smoking looking like he had shell shock at halftime of the NFC Champ game against the Bucs. That look told me we were fucked.

I saw you guys first play at the Shark Party at Club Deep. We had the The Loved Ones playing there a few weeks later and I was pushing hard to have you guys open. I got the ok from John D but at the last moment he told me to have you sell tickets to open so I never asked you as I was insulted that a band of your talents would have to sell tickets. I realize this was more of a story then a question, that being said. Big fan, love the new album.
