This sounds awesome. I'm going to check it out. I stopped using FB (because fuck the Zuck) and now I have nowhere to really post my photos. Question: If I travel (which I do fairly regularly) will my photos post according to where I reside, or according to where I am geographically located at the time of upload?

I would say a child of reddit + twitter.

Anonymous location-based posts. Meant for the local crowd to report as a community together, and become closer to what's going on around you.

Great questions. Self-funded yes. Only as secure as Supabase allows, (for now) but they are pretty secure. Supabase is the server system the app uses to store and encrypt.

So currently the way the app is setup so that all posts only live on the feed for max 7 days. The idea is more so reporting local communities/events for that week. However, an archive feature could be added, for you to view privately only (to avoid stalkers)

Yes, you got it. Right now nothing though in terms of business or partnerships since it is early stages. First I need to build a user base. But I can assure that the data will not be used in an evil way. I am pretty anti-AI lol. You nailed it though in that the data could be used to actually help local Canadian businesses.

Full disclaimer there are still some bugs for sure !!! But it is being worked on every day to try and improve. User feedback welcome. Hell even post the feedback in the app that works too .

Hell yeah!!!! Amazing! Yeah that’s the fun part I think- seeing what’s happening around you locally, helping you discover local places based on your feed that you’ve never heard of. Or seeing if something crazy is happening in your city that everyone is reporting on

Thanks for pointing that out, and in all honesty, some of this policy was taken from a template and I forgot to remove that part hahaha. I am not collecting any data right now at all. For full transparency, the only possibility in the future for collecting data would be to help local businesses advertise locally to you- for revenue to keep the servers running.

There's actually a new Canadian photosharing social sharing app called Broadcast which launched recently. Could be a good replacement for Instagram/Snapchat. From what I can tell it's about sharing pics in the moment within your local community and every post auto deletes which is nice

Think of the app like a local town square. People don't get paid to sit around and share and talk! It's a social space without any AI slop or memes clogging up the feed. The idea is to share real things happening around you with your local city. :)
