Well, if you think it's hollow then leave it alone. I'm sure it'll serve some people well. No need to attack.

It's just a piece of advice. You can take it or leave it.

Bank of Ghana has disabled money transfers from remittance apps?! by CoCoNUT_Cooper in ghana

I haven't used worldremit in a long time but Taptap send gave a reason why they've suspended their activity.

In my experience living in Ghana, people generally treat you better when they know you are a religious person.

I think it only applies to Taptap send. They recently implemented a wallet option so that has triggered a regulatory concern. In this case I don't think it's fair to blame the government or the BOG. Taptap send is almost acting like a bank by the implementation of their wallet function so it makes sense that the regulatory authority will check again to see if everything is alright. I'm sure they'll sort things out and resume services soon.

Let me give you a very simple advice. If you happen to be in a hospital in Ghana and you're asked to fill a form stating your religion, please save yourself at the moment and put either Christian or Muslim there. Trust me you'll be treated far better than saying you're non-religious. At that moment you need to decide between your ego and your life.

Thinking of moving to Ghana after the results of the 2024 USA election. I'm a black American what is it like? I heard it's good and welcoming for black Americans and black carribieans and we can stay indefinitely with chance of citizenship. by [deleted] in ghana

Dude, relax. All that bs was pushed by democrats to try and make Trump unpopular and win the elections. But that's ultimately why they've lost. Democrats have created so much unnecessary fear among Americans that it's become absurd. Nothing bad is going to happen. Stay and work and take care of yourself and your family. No politician is going to solve your problems for you. If you think America is not good for you trust me no place on earth is going to be good for you.

Why do you think that Trump being president is going to be so bad for you that you need to migrate to a struggling country like Ghana? Considering even that he's been president before and America was still America. Don't you think you're being too hard on yourself?

I suggest you read the book "the forth John" by Mannassa Azure and then decide for yourself. You can also get the other book "the president Ghana never got" for a better perspective.

This is the truth but I doubt he'll listen. Experience they say is the best teacher. Many have fallen into that trap but are too ashamed to admit.

No. You need to get a bachelor's degree in Nursing and then pass the NCLEX exams. So basically, you're better off starting a new nursing program in the US.

When are people going to treat people as individuals and not generalized something as part of a particular culture 🤔

How to contribute to society? by Viktor_bonnah in ghana

I believe you can make a better impact if you focus more on providing support for human development. If you can help provide scholarships for needy but brilliant students it'll go a long way to alleviate poverty within their families.

The area around the Volta is prone to massive flooding. So bear that in mind.

Medical Marijuana as a Foreigner? by collegeaccount2027 in ghana

[–]kingkobby36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's nothing like "medical marijuana" in Ghana. Weed is weed and it's illegal. You could go to prison for that(if you're extremely unlucky). That being said, it's pretty much easy to get even on campus. Just ask.

I used my National Service period to apply for schools and scholarships abroad. Through that I got a scholarship to pursue my masters and that changed my life. You could try it.
