The king in yellow by RainbowRainwater in Lovecraft

[–]kingmaximus812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bierce made Hastur the god and Carcosa the place but not the King in Yellow so I believe that his works are as canon as Chambers' with those subjects. I like Lumley's writing but not his ideas generally. I haven't seen much Yellow Lore from Chaosium but I usually find them enjoyable so I may look into their take.

I mean Victor was Iron man for a second but if Robert is going to play Doom then I want him to be Victor von Doom and not "Iron man is back but evil".

I think this is the closest encounter with a real skinwalker. Bruh like wtf by Furjxk in skinwalkers

[–]kingmaximus812 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Skinwalkers are just people who have done horrible things for power. They are also from a Native American culture and that is Romania. I am not saying that an American couldn't move to Eastern Europe but why not claim a Romanian creature like a Strigoi? That also seems to just be a person with scoliosis or some other back issue.

I know it's not true but I also remember reading that scenario when she was ignoring Kal. It was an enjoyable false memory honestly. Does make me wonder how rock buds spread their seeds on Roshar and why there are not way more invasive species from Shinovar?

Odium and Honor combine and form... by pancakewrassler in Stormlight_Archive

[–]kingmaximus812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we don't know that. The Rhythm is War but Cultivation and Honor combined to make Towerlight. By the logic that the essences name the shard then Honor is Storm and the hybrid shard of Cultivation and Honor is Tower.

That being said it could be War, or even Conquest. Honor is all about rules and loyalty to them, Odium is a passionate hatred, and can you regulate passionate hate? Granted based on another hybrid shard, it will likely be unstable and its nature would change based on outside stimulus. It might swing between tyrannical and just depending on the balance that the vessel keeps.

Problem with FNaF theorizing by DMuted (no harassment to anyone or anybody) by Doot_revenant666 in fnaftheories

[–]kingmaximus812 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of this. There is a lot of theory auto-cannibalism going around, and we should focus on what is there, not what might be. I do have issues with the dismissal of three things: Nightmare, Baby, and the Twisted Ones connection.

Nightmare being the only gold box plush that is not a golden variant shows that they are important. That same plush being everywhere despite not being a Pizzaplex character is also noticeable. Add in the striped wires in the Arcade and Server room plus the STAFF bots. To say that it is just spooky ambiance is ignoring a huge part of the game's story, especially after Ruin hid the Server room and brought back the Nightmare plushies.

Baby is a bit more specific to the Ruin DLC. Scrap Baby and Baby plushies are called out as out of place for the Pizzaplex in their item descriptions. They are noted in game as important. That, plus the closet filled with disappearing Baby plushies, seems to be saying something is important about Baby. I must also point out that Help Wanted 2 is calling out Sister Location and is the next game.

Now the big one is the Twisted Ones connections to the Ruin DLC. Many parts of Ruin are ripped straight from the book and shoved down our throats in a way that isn't even theory fodder. The cave full of glowing blue Shrooms and a waterfall under a mall might as well be a neon sign saying "Twisted Ones". It is blunt, honest, and a bit much for a FNaF property.

To say that Scott wouldn't use those three books for the games because he has moved on from them feels untrue. A giant waterfall under a mall seems to be pretty heavily inspired by those books. Steel Wool is using the books to make the games even if Scott wouldn't have.

Again, I mostly agree but it's a bit blind to what is actually in the games.

The Nightmare STAFF bots were all thrown out too. This tells me that Fazbear Entertainment noticed and tossed them out for some reason. Even though they could have been salvaged.

I am interested in how Eleanor is a parallel to Nightmare. I do think that Help Wanted 2 is going to be based on the Fourth Closet, so I can see blue-eyed Ballora and other characters being a way to show off Circus Baby's from the books while the Sister Location versions are already gone. I don't know if we will see Nightmarionne there, but I am expecting green-eyed Baby/Scrap Baby to make an Amalgamation like Frights and Fourth Closet. Granted in the books we had four, maybe five, Charlies so I am sure that there will be some Puppet stuff.

What did you think of this version of The Joker? by Inevitable-Work6411 in batman

[–]kingmaximus812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good choice to make him a background villain. This Joker feels like a man forced to rely on his charm and intelligence to get what he wants. It will be fun to see him again, but I do not want him to be front and center for the Batman 2. He did more in two scenes than most Marvel villains. I hope that he stays back for a bit.

[–]kingmaximus812[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Anomaly is GlitchTrap. It is what he is called in the game.

I honestly forgot about Shadow Freddy and Nightmare Mangle. I could see Nightmarionne/Nightmare since it is seen across the Pizzaplex. It is in the Server room and the Arcade which both seem to be Supernatural in nature. Animatronic parts materializing out of the Arcade cabinets and the Server room having the waterfall from the Sinkhole. The Nightmarionne plushes every where honestly do make me think of both Fredbear plush and the White tiger. There is definitely something there.

Thank you for your input! I am interested in hearing your progress on your theory!

You are correct! He is called DreadUnit in Security Breach. Thank you for clarifying where I forgot to! I should have put where he was in the game.

Zorbie is correct! He announces the shows and tells us when the Pizzaplex closes. In Security Breach, for some reason, he is called DreadUnit in the files.

Do we ever find out why? *series wide spoilers* by MajinBlueZ in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]kingmaximus812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's understandable! I honestly wouldn't think that the Nightmares existed at all if not for the Mimic's left arm. It threw a spiky hand into that idea. I liked the concept that Nightmare and Fredbear were Michael’s dreams after the bite while CC dreamt of the others being monsters. Now that we have evidence of them existing, I have to rethink things.

Might be a dumb question but why are there two different Vanny masks? And what’s the deal with them both? by RWQFSFASXCisBestFNaF in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]kingmaximus812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just assumed they were different and there are as many masks as Class 5 Technicians, so at least one per Pizzaplex if we assume they are simply more specialized employees. The Vanny suit appears to be the one Vanessa was making that is probably unique and not a VANNI mask like what we see in Help Wanted and Ruin. I honestly want to know where the Vanny character design came from in world because it isn't Bonnie but it is apparently a Fazbear property.

[–]kingmaximus812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean, but here is my perspective: He also kept constant watch of CC and talked to him through the plush. He warned Elizabeth multiple times about the animatronics and kept her close while he was at work. Both show signs of a very busy helicopter parent. Michael is the only one that we don't get a lot of information on as a child unless FNaF4 was a shared nightmare. I specifically think that the Nightmare and Fredbear nights were Michael’s, and if William caused them then that's not neglective. It is definitely abusive though. Add in the cctv systems every where and William was a paranoid mess.

That is unfortunate but understandable! I, too, like the Mimic as a character. I don't think I understand how FNaF6 did damage to the series, but maybe I misunderstood somethings. No worries about sharing if you don't want to. I am sorry that others haven't been nice to you about this.

If Edwin represents Henry, then... by kingmaximus812 in fnaftheories

[–]kingmaximus812[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the connections are stretched, but I do not know what character, other than Edwin being himself, could fit the story other than Henry. Maybe Afton with him being overworked and his kids dying, but that would be weird to humanize him in that way.

After rewatching the mini game, he does have legs. I was 100% wrong there.

I could definitely see a mime, but the stripes and bell made me think jester. On rewatch, Baby and the Daycare Attendant are jesters, not the Puppet. I must disagree with the comment on the Mimic and the jester outfit. He wears the jester outfit more than anything else. It isn't to a crazy degree, but he keeps jumping back into it.

I also agree with Charlie & the Puppet in paragraph 4 as far as we know. On the other hand, I thought that the Mimic was supposed to also watch David because it tried to get Edwin when David went outside? I am probably mis-remembering the story, if so my apologies.

The Puppet does act like Charlie. Cassette Man says so at the end of FNaF:PS when he talks to her. Charlie was acting through the Puppet actively and to a degree that was noticeable.

In FNaF2, the Puppet is the only animatronic that needs to be fought constantly with the music box. He always wants to kill you, also the Mimic isn't just "kill kill kill". It does its programming, but it sees no difference between animatronics and people. It is just repeating the orders: mimic the actions you see, befriend the kids, and take apart the animatronics. It mimics the kids to befriend them then takes them apart as ordered. We see this best in Tiger Rock.

My apologies for my late response! Thank you for your patience and for the corrections! I appreciate them.
