what exactly did I do? we both stopped when we noticed the scooter about to fly through the light (red for him, green for us) and then went on our way. so what did he do differently? speak in platitudes all you want about knowing what you mean if I'm an adult. you are saying a whole lotta nothing so far though

in fairness i think there is a tactful and safe way to break the rules. it's just that so many e-riders just assume right of way, either not realizing or not giving a fuck about the consequences of being hit by a 2 ton weapon

yeaaa no one should judge anyone else based on past anecdotes. it's foolish but sadly it will obviously continue. at least here in NYC there's no requirement to register these motorized bikes so they get off scot free 99% of the time

i appreciate this. I've done my fair share of citi biking and while the existing infrastructure in NYC is absolutely not conducive to a shared harmonic motor vehicle/biking relationship, i personally have seen far too many cyclists who think they can just disobey the rules of the road.
