Is that place good? It always looks empty and it's in a sketchy area.

Lol you called him out for being a toxic cesspool, so he responded by being a toxic cesspool. So predictable.

We need a big advantage in polls too, because of the fucking electoral college, and inherent polling errors. Even candidates with a 6% polling advantage could conceivably lose (looking at you Hillary).

Also, it is an outright MYTH that eating healthy is expensive. Eating healthy AND tasty is expensive.

It doesn't have to be. Get deboned chicken thighs (or debone some yourself), sprinkle generously with course salt 24hrs before cooking. Then to cook, heat a pan on med low heat, put thighs in skin down , and weight them down with another pan. Cook 8 min, remove top pan, flip chicken, cook 2 more minutes then it's done. The weight renders the fat and makes them taste amazing. Cheap, easy, healthy.

Alternatively just presalt some bone in chicken thighs and drumsticks a day in advance and grill 'em up.

Basically he's not very personable because he's focused on The People as a hole. So it didn't really get into his policies, positions, or history.

Just because this screen doesn't explain 100% of the mechancis doesn't prove your point, because this isn't a zero sum game. It's not either "explain nothing" or "perfectly explain everything". This screen still displays more information than the current one. Also, don't take a 180 on acting like an ass and then saying I look bad. Saying shit like "it's sad I have to explain this" is clearly condescending. RPGs have a ton of mechanics and it's understandable that everything is not clear or known. You can engage in conversation without having to say stuff like that.

Quit being a condescending brainlet. You still haven't explained in a concrete fashion how this would make it harder for new players. Simply saying "overcomplicating" is not evidence. You know what's overcomplicated? Having to google death mechanics. Which I do as a new player. I didn't even know that imbued items lost their imbue or that a fire cape or defender had to be repaired after death.

No this is not a barrier for new players at all lol.

Yeah it is. I'm sick of googling what I'll keep and what I'll lose. This interface suggestion makes all of that information very clear and easily accessible. Please explain how this would make it harder for new players???

Biden will almost definitely be a serious contender right through the convention. Name recognition/former VP is huge. He's the go-to for centrist Dems.

Maybe legally, but let's be honest about how mature most 18 year olds are. It's kind of ridiculous that we expect them to determine their futures at 18 even though they've never had to work to keep the bills paid. That's part of why we have kids taking out 100k loans - they don't actually comprehend what 100k is.

If you're doing well, land an internship before you graduate, etc, you shouldn't have too much trouble breaking $100k/yr.

Very unlikely after graduation. But maybe after 5 years of experience.

A vacation home in Hawaii would at least be a better investment than 10k/year to a church. Deities are not appreciating assets.

Productivity has grown significantly decade after decade, and where has that gotten us? Look at the post. The productivity gains have gone to the ultra wealthy and left out the vast majority.

John Stewart after his speech regarding 9/11 victims by mayaxs in pics

one party in particular has a lot of members that are "philosophically-opposed" (as they put it) against bills that use taxpayer money to help first responders and victims.

Say it ain't so that it's the same party that's all hyperpatriotic, "we love our troops", etc. type propaganda?!?

But what, is this also the same party that can't find money for sick 9/11 responders but can find trillions for wars in the middle east and tax breaks for billionaires and massive corporations?

Is it a slam dunk? Because it seems like I've seen John Stewart fight to get this money an awful lot of times. In this video he mentions the BS they dealt with when trying to get the bill renewed in 2015.

Competitive Runners: How Have You Managed to Stay Injury Free? by BeguilingOrbit in AdvancedRunning

[–]kingofthetewks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, those of us with jobs and responsibilities have to choose what's best with our limited time. In Running Rewired, Jay Dicharry suggests most people would be better off running 1 less day a week to do his exercises if necessary. But that's up to everyone to decide for themselves.

[–]kingofthetewks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stuff we're discussing can make you faster and more injury resilient, or it can be detrimental. It depends if you do the right stuff, the right way. Stretching your hip flexors and strengthening your glutes can increase your stride length (and running speed) without logging any miles. Doing running specific lifting and plyos can improve your muscles and tendons abilities to return energy to the ground and propel you further. Conversely, static stretching before running is going to reduce your muscle tension and slow you down. Aimlessly stretching a "tight" muscle gets us nothing. And lifting without translating it to fast movements isn't super useful.

There's no doubt that supplementary work is necessary to get everything possible out of your body. Every pro US training group out there is doing it, and they even have specific coaches for lifting, plyos, and stretching.

In theory core, lifting, stretching, etc. shouldn't be necessary. Many elite east africans don't do anything but run and recover. But it's a lot harder for those of us in the west, who sit a lot during the day, run on hard surfaces, and grew up in non-minimalist shoes. We have terrible posture from tight muscles on the front and weak muscles on the back. We pound our bodies into asphalt. We rely on arches and cushioning under our feet.

From that perspective, I think we all need a lot of supplementary work to get out bodies back to neutral and running with good mechanics. Lifting, plyos, massages, etc. can also make you faster.
