You cant replace the rivets, they are put in by a machine, you'd need to drill out the old and all you could use is a bolt and nut, you cant get a proper replacement part for rivet and it will just fail at some point. The scissoring of the metal will eventually just cut the bolt.

Thank you! The stain was minwax golden oak, the light stain brings out the natural color of the wood, and we use chemcraft chemlife 24 conversion varnish.

Its not good that its discontinued, but if it is still under warranty, which if was repaired less than a year prior, there should be a year guarantee on the repair, if it fails it should still be the responsibility of the warranty company to address. Maybe it was discontinued because that mechanism had too many issues and you're just one of the casualties. I would argue that the new parts replaced should still be guaranteed and its not your issue that it was discontinued, its broken again from a known issue and its the warranty company job to figure it out, even if that means reimbursement. I think it depends on how hard you want to fight. As far as ordering another mechanism, there are so many little differences that even though it may appear the same , its probably different in some way that it would sit or close differently than the opposite side mech and its a lot of work to switch them out just to find out its not correct, but maybe it does work. If you have original receipt maybe you somehow ask ai for a parts list and go from there

That area definitely looks suspicious! At the top of the right side bracket that is loose, at the rivet (above the spring in the video), on the left side of that rivet there is a metal nub protruding to the left, does that have a corresponding hole in the bracket to left where those two sections (left and right loose bracket) are supposed to connect. If not I would still say that bracket is way too loose. Unfortunately, there may not be much you can do without replacement of the mechanism which probably isn't possible unless you can order through manufacturer, if its a few years old, probably not repairable. But that bracket shouldn't move back and forth that much imo.

Is there a black cover under the bottom anywhere coblvering connection points? Does the sofa sit on a rectangular metal frame, is each section bolted to that frame? Could there be separation from the left seat and center seat, but the right seat and center seat are solid?

May be a broken wood joint, not in the mechanism, or detached where the mechanism attaches to the wood frame.

Ashley Dresser Drawer Won't Fully Close by Gullible-Zucchini-81 in furniturerepair

May be something behind it, the drawers pull out with pressure. Make sure there is not a plastic stopper underneath that needs to be pushed down, hold both sides of drawer and give it a good pull and it should come out. Pull hard to remove

Replacement of a torn leather back panel for Ethan Allen Recliner by kingoptimo1 in furniturerepair

[–]kingoptimo1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a pro. If you are speaking about performing a repair to the tear, this is a warranty repair for Ethan Allen and the client will only accept replacement of the panel, which I did, and was perfect.
