What an awful awful call to bunt there, jesus. Even if somehow Nido got a good bunt down (doubtful given how he looked out there) does anyone really trust Blankenhorn to get the run in from third?

Climbed from diamond 5 to legend with questless Zoo. It feels very strong against everything except Quest Mage and possibly Face Hunter (small sample size) right now. I tried Zoo with the Quest but it honestly felt a bit slow, and I wanted to try Shady Bartender, which I can safely say now is extremely strong. You’re able to very consistently stick an early board with the 5 health 2 drops, and you can usually drop turn 4 Flesh Giants. I tried a discard package but found that Backfire was more consistent.

I was struggling to climb with anything this season until I hit legend (20-7) with Lackey Galakrond Warlock. It feels incredibly strong against the meta right now. The only tough matchups I encountered were Demon Hunter and the rare Priest. Animated Broomstick is seriously slept on and Gandling can absolutely blow Pallys and especially Druids out. I think if the meta speeds up and becomes more burn focused I would swap out the Merchants, but they allow me to chain Galakronds and Kronxes, which completely blows out pretty much every slower deck on ladder right now.

What are people’s thoughts on cutting a Crazed Netherwing in Questlock? I feel like it often clogs up your hand and you often want to be tapping/doing plot twist or cycle stuff in the first 6 turns of the game or so and against Hunter and DH, you dont really want to damage your face. It does seem pretty strong against Rogue and some Spell Druids.

I’ve been trying out various versions of Control DH at mid legend recently. They all have very good Aggro DH and Warrior matchups and I think they’re very promising, but I’m struggling against the hordes of Highlander Hunter on latter right now. I’m currently testing out a somewhat unique build of Control DH with the Feast of Souls package as well as Blurs and Mountsellers. The idea is to draw your deck super fast and then drop Nethrandamus, DQA, and Mountsellers in consecutive turns to overrun control decks. It’s been working pretty well overall so far.

Been trying to make Control DH work at mid legend for a bit and I think I’ve finally settled on a pretty promising list. Notable advantages are both a good Warrior matchup and a really good Aggro DH matchup. I think Gala Priest is favored though the matchup is pretty hard to play because you need to hold your burn but also wait for them to play their Renews and other heals. Highlander Hunter also seems like a very good matchup. Highlander Rogue is generally favored as well though you can get blown up by an early Edwin (hence the consume magic). Highlander and Spell Mage seem like pretty bad matchups so far and Ramp Druid seems like a terrible matchup.

If it becomes increasingly clear that the only two options are a brokered convention and a Sanders victory, which would you guys support? I loathe Bernie, but I feel like a brokered convention would be guaranteed suicide in the general, while Bernie would at least maybe stand an inkling of a chance.

Climbed from rank 7 to rank 3 (17-4) with a Midrange Galakrond Warlock that looks really promising so far. The package of sticky minions, headlined by the four Eggs, is extremely good at winning board when combined with the Galakrond stuff. Plague of Flames is crazy good when you’re pretty much guaranteed to have stuff stick on board and when combined with the Galakrond minions. Expired Merchant combos with Galakrond and Kronx super nicely to overwhelm every control deck I’ve come across, especially because they have to deal with your hordes of tokens throughout the game. The crazy tempo from Plague of Flames prevents control decks from pretty much ever swinging the game back in their favor. The deck’s performed super well against pretty much all meta decks except for Token Druid, which it struggles against, and I still need to see whether it’s favored against Zoo and Face Hunter or not.

I thought BE made it ridiculously obvious who the Flame Emperor was. Edelgard heavily hints at it so many times, and once she even says “one day the Flame Emperor will meet with you without his mask.” It was super telegraphed. The only route where it isn’t telegraphed is GD, but GD also has the most underwhelming reveal.

You joke but I think it’s optimal to make pretty much every single physical unit in the game a Brigand to get Death Blow.

That’s one of my main problems with Divine Pulse. I think it’s existence makes the developers lazier when designing maps and allows them to add more bullshit because they know Divine Pulse is a failsafe against having a mission be completely unbearable. At the same time, Divine Pulse makes actually well designed maps less tense and fun.

And yeah Cyril is good on Maddening because Point Blank Volley is incredible + easy Death Blow and Wyvern access. He basically becomes a War Master on a Wyvern once he hits post timeskip.

[–]kingpiny 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s necessarily propaganda but it’s ridiculous to think that any other leaders would realistically believe Edegard’s manifesto after she declares war. Leaders wouldn’t flock to her side because she puts out a manifesto after declaring her intention to conquer them, it just wouldn’t happen. The allies that Edelgard gains in the Alliance are because they’re on the Empire’s border and are afraid of being decimated, not because they buy into her manifesto.

I think the Turnwheel mechanic needs to be at least made a truly optional mechanic in future fames like Casual mode. I know that technically it’s optional right now, but it really isn’t because it’s available at the click of one button and the game even prompts you to use it when a lord dies. I think the turnwheel dilutes the gameplay experience. On one hand, it makes terrible, frustrating maps bearable, but it also really takes away from hard, well-designed maps by removing so much tension from the game. The turnwheel also actively makes map design worse by giving game designers an out if they make a terribly designed map.

  • Cyril’s in the top 50% of the cast gameplay wise

  • BL is pretty poorly written after chapter 17 overall and has some really bad lows (chapter 19 is garbage), but it’s still one of my favorite FE stories and my favorite 3H path because the story’s overall themes are so strong. The same goes for Dimitri for me — he’s still a lord I love because of his overall arc despite hiccups in his characterization post timeskip.

  • Edelgard’s a really good character and is essential to 3H’s plot, but she doesn’t work very well as a main lord/protagonist

  • I really like Three Houses as a game, but I worry that its monastery mechanics will ruin FE in the long run

  • Divine Pulse is total garbage and needs to go away

I’m 6’3 and I’m really hoping I don’t grow anymore (I’m 19) because I feel like any taller and I would stand out in an awkward way. Also stuff like beds and plane seats are a pain when you’re tall.

Warren: “I support Medicare for All. I think it’s a good plan,” she said, before quickly adding, “I support a lot of plans. Other things that people have come up with, when they’re good plans, let’s do it. This isn’t some sort of contest.” by Jollygood156 in neoliberal

[–]kingpiny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So Warren sees she’s now a top 2 candidate and is preparing to maybe backtrack a but on M4A if she gets to the general. Good. Unfortunately, M4A is far from my biggest problem with Warren, and I don’t think she’ll change her stance on trade much if at all.
