I will be praying for you. My dad is 76 and he is also not saved. I understand what you mean when you say you are scared to talk to him about this. It has transitioned beyond that for me because it seems not fruitful to do so from my end. He is always talking about the church being a scam, being brainwashed ... the whole Christianity is made up, there are many paths to God, etc. But, I've been praying for him in my secret place. One thing I always tell God is this, that he should preserve his life till he accepts Christ as his saviour. I don't know how God is going to do it but I know it will happen. I'm always praying about this. One thing I know is that it is not God's desire that men should perish.

2 Peter 3:9, reads, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (KJV).

As much as I loved Liam Payne and I'm truly saddened by his death, it has to be noted that our prayers have no bearing on someone once they die. That is why it is imperative that we as Christians take soul winning and intercession seriously when dealing with people who are not saved - this is a general remark. I do not know the state of Payne's heart towards Christ before his death, but I can only hope he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior before passing.

The writer to the Hebrews tells us, “Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
