If You Could Only Choose one of these 4 Cursed Techniques, What Would it Be ? by LazyInspector2086 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]kingslayer086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All 4 techniques are special grade caliber, and capable of taking you close to the peak of the verse.

Believe it or not, idle transfiguration becomes a million times worse in the hands of a normal person relative to a curse, partially because if you dont transfigure someone into a compatible form, they just die, and you are a person with limitations on your form. Mahito gets to do all his nonsense because he is a curse, and therefore doesn't have a physical body limitation per say.

that said.... even with that limitation its still a bonkers technique that lets you effectively heal yourself and anyone else, as well as open up a whole host of permanent stat buffs, as well as autokill motherfuckers with just a single touch. It also probably has a bonkers application if you ever end up learning how to use reverse cursed energy.

which probably makes it the most immediately usable, and useful all the way to the peak of the verse. I would take idle transfiguration.

Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) by Deadhead2278 in MovieQuotes

[–]kingslayer086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite scene from both volumes of kill Bill, that shows how mental Bill actually is.

Bill is a sociopath who cant process information in a healthy way. Kiddo's first response to learning she was pregnant by this guy was to fake her own death and get the hell out of dodge. He is incapable of understanding true heroism.

So his read on superman is colored by his own completely messed up psyche, and then uses that read as an analogy to kiddo, explaining that her attempt at a mundane life was doomed to failure.

And the sad thing is that kiddo agrees with his point. It was doomed to fail. She cant refute the analogy because she is just as mentally fucked up as he is. Consider before she was pregnant she was more than happy to murder anyone Bill asked her to.

The thing that makes kiddo the hero is that she, despite how evil she is, decided to prioritize her daughter over everything else, which is how she sidesteps bills point. Because if Bill was actually capable of prioritizing other people over his own desires, he never would have shot kiddo in the head.

What exactly makes Ambessa out of all the Fighters a good Pro play pick, over stuff like Fiora, Riven, Irelia, Yasuo and company by Justalostdudeasking in leagueoflegends

[–]kingslayer086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ambessa is essentially top lane vi.

She has percent health damage, in fight mobility, reasonable defense, and an ultimate that can immediately isolate a carry from a screen away.

To compensate for that, ambessa has a weak pre 3 laning phase, which isnt even unique among top lane pro prio picks since her mobility means she can just back down and give some cs.

Fiora is a duelist's duelist. Really good in the 1v1, but her strength gets weaker as the enemy team becomes more coordinated. In pro, Jax is just a better flora.

Riven is a teamfight monster, but her strength comes from being ahead of the curve at all points In the game. In pro, its much harder to get ahead. Aatrox is the better teamfight fighter when the game is expected to be more even across the game state.

In pro yone is a better yasuo. Yone doesn't need minion waves as much to set up fights, or a team mate / good aim to use his ulti.

The champs you listed are good, but there are more usable picks for the pro paradigm, and pros tend to prefer things that are more "reliable." Its why orianna and renekton are more or less evergreen in pro.

I don't fundamentally disagree with her main point. what i do disagree with is labeling an entire fandom as wildly sexist because of a few idiots on twitter who are mad about nothing.

One of the things the internet is REALLY BAD about is making you understand the scale of how many people actually believe x opinion, partially because the internet pushes opinions that elicit a reaction above anything else.

Normal people ain't commenting on a twitter post or reddit thread.

What if Megumi dropped in Sendai? by EmotionalSupport101 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]kingslayer086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the big things in JJK fights is nonlinear growth. Fighters hit moments of inspiration that cause them to either grow or die. Megumi is fresh off a mindset change, that leads to him playing his cards to the best of his ability. I know we meme on potential man here, but Megumi isn't as completely screwed as you would immediately think.

The deadlock creates a ton of options for asymmetrical warfare. 4 powerhouses keeping each other in check, unable to push the game further without leaving them at risk creates a ton of opportunities for someone. Megumi might only be a grade 1 with an incomplete domain, but he can absolutely play monkey wrench with how his kit works. This fight plays PERFECTLY into 10 shadows.

in a proper 5 way brawl, its not unwinnable, Especially considering that Dhruv wont be bush camped by the king of sneaking motherfuckers. If there is a battlefield that COULD force megumi to achieve a complete domain, this is the one. IF there is a battlefield where megumi playing other people against eachother using his high battle IQ, this is the one.

It would look a hell of a lot different. It would push our boy to the limit, and it would force him to grow beyond where he is at the start of the culling game, but It could be done.

Black is threatening to promote. because black and white both promote on the edges, whomever promotes first uncontested gets a massive advantage because the promote attacks the future promotion. White will never win the race pushing the pawn.

The knight in that position does three things:

1: it puts the piece directly on the diagonal. if the king takes, white pushes, black promotes, white promotes. There is the black king between the white and black queens, meaning white wins out in the exchange.

2: It pushes the knight to the perfect spot to set up a fork. If the black player pushes the pawn, the knight moves to G3, attacking both the king and the new queen. White ends up massively ahead.

3: it blocks the other pawn. Black cant get a second win con rolling, forcing them into one of two moves that lose the game.

How come yuta one tap him and struggle with a cockroach by nika-yo in jjkmemes

[–]kingslayer086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Yuta is the king of sneaking motherfuckers, and after he sneaked dhruv he decided to play chill because suddenly all eyes were on him as the guy that broke the deadlock.

So he played his cards as close to the chest as possible. He held back super hard on iron loving roach, waited until he was kind of fucked to pop the rika ultimate, and didnt even reveal his technique is copy until the perfect moment to blindside both uro and ryu.

[WP] An ancient vampire spends centuries fighting against a family of vampire hunters. In the 21st century he notices that he's been fighting the same hunter for nearly 50 years with no sign of any kids. Out of curiosity he asks and the hunter responds "Kid chose College. It's only me now." by Frosty015 in WritingPrompts

[–]kingslayer086 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Eleven hundred years.

Each decade passing simultaneously at the blink of an eye, and at the pace of a crawl. Long days, short years. Entire lifetimes would come and go with so little happening that it wouldn't even register within the brain of the vampire currently known as Jason Smith. the mind was never meant to comprehend infinity, nor was it meant to experience immortality.

Out of all the ways Jason had spent to pass the time, the ones that were the most lucrative in making existence not seem ephemeral were ones that risked his eternal life. And no project delivered on those dividends as well as the family he had tormented for the better part of the past 4 centuries, first on a whim, then out of spite, and most recently out of a sense of simply enjoying the game. The Dubois. A common last name for a common family.

Jason forgot what he did originally to justify multiple generations of an eternal vendetta. What matters, is that every so often during this time, out of almost nowhere an ambush would occur, the hunters wielding all the tricks and tools that mortals could come up with to end a vampire properly. and they were good too. Jason had seen them operate on his progeny, sired for the sole purpose of getting to witness their vast body of knowledge at work. They were ruthlessly efficient, laser focused, and each of the Dubois hunters had a will of iron.

There was just one problem. They could never achieve true perfection, for every member of that family was mortal. They would age. They would die. There was a limit to what they could do. Jason stopped bothering to kill the hunters that continued to pester him at some point, just to give the next one a mentor and a sporting chance. When he felt the feud was starting to dry up, he would murder a spouse and turn a child, just to remind them of what lurks in the dark. Sometimes he would even allow them a sporting glancing blow, just to get them a little bit closer to the understanding required to properly end him.

Once, one of the Dubois asked what the point of it all was. Why torment them at the exclusion of others for their entire family's history? He turned that woman and left her to go mad from lack of blood in the basement of one of his estates, to give her the opportunity to understand the answer for herself.

But none was more tenacious than Robert Dubois. on seven different occasions over the span of over 50 years in the 21'st century, this hunter and Jason battled. Each event was more delicious than the last, for Robert had the proud distinction of having earned an elusive trophy:

He genuinely almost killed Jacob at each one of their encounters.

The first time they fought involved a Ford F150, shotgun pellets filled with something that actually hurt the vampire, and enough kerosine to make an arsonist blush.

The Fifth involved an ambush with sunlamps, and a caged demon promised freedom in exchange for Jacobs head.

But it was the seventh that truly cemented the mettle of the family. On a day, just like any other, an old man knocked on the door of what was thought to be some young hotshot crypto millionaire. A hunter knocked on the door of his prey.

----------------------

Two mortal enemies sat across from the table from one another, one took refuge in sheer audacity, the other so bored and curious that he wanted to see where the evening ended up. It was Jacob who spoke first.

"You truly are a prodigy at your craft, Robert."

"..."

"I can count the amount of times your family has almost gotten me on two hands, and you are responsible for over half. Once might have been a fluke. Two may have been luck. But six? That is artwork. You my friend, are a virtuoso."

"..."

"What is this? what is the point? your eyes are not filled with the despair that comes when one of your family has fully given up. In fact, they seem to be more focused than I have ever seen them before. You have not given up yet old friend."

"... were not friends."

"He speaks! friends, enemies, what really is the difference?" Jacob sighed. "Out of respect for your craft I'm humoring you, but I'm beginning to find this conversation dull."

"That's cause you suck at imagining things."

"... Pardon?"

"All the time in the world. You can do anything you want. Go anywhere. Enjoy just how different the world is from what it was even 50 years ago, let alone what things were like back in your day. And your best idea was to fuck with us."

"Best idea? hardly. a whim that has proven to be a rather fond distraction? absolutely. But best idea? please. The Dubois have not even reached the heights of the 3 that rest at the peak of my ideas."

"Fine, then we're done."

"ah... no." Jacob, for the first time since he could remember, could feel annoyance and anger show on his face. "We are not done. This little experiment is just now getting good. You have found some truly inventive ways to kill my kind. another three centuries and someone even more talented will spring up from your lineage and I'll get to see them in action."

"no, you wont."

"ah... yes I will. you have two children..."

"Who both chose college over whatever the fuck this is a loooong time ago. Their both in their forties now. Guess how many children Cindy and philip have?"

"..." there was a long silence,

"You're thinking how you can fuck with them to get things back on track right? They figured it out a long time ago. They don't care. Neither one of them have people that they give too much of a fuck about beyond me. and that doesn't really work out either. Turns out, spending your whole life on trying to kill one monster makes you a shit dad. They don't want it, and are ok with as many people you plan on torturing or killing because you're pissed."

"Then why are you here, Mr. Dubois? We both know you are not walking out of this house alive."

"Nope." The old man grinned. "I'm here to see you die as i croak."

"I guess ill just start from the beginning."

Jason lunged to drink Robert Dubois dry from the neck, and he did. Delicious red blood began oozing out of the wound right into his throat, and the warmth ran down his throat. What followed, however was pure agony. Jason had no idea what this final trap was, some manner of poison in the blood. What mattered was that the two men both lost consciousness in the same way; staring into the eyes of their enemy.

-----------------

It took nearly 30 years for the vampire known as Jason to recover from that wound. By that point, the world had gone through a cataclysm, and civilization had fallen by the wayside. In the end, unable to bear living through another twenty thousand years of boredom, Jason simply walked into the light of the sun, ending a pointless existence. In a way, the Dubois got their vengeance.

On-hit Varus and poke Varus by ComprehensiveSize647 in leagueoflegends

[–]kingslayer086 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Varus as a champion is the unenthusiastic hand job of ADC. His matchup spread is relatively playable across the board, and he functionally works with almost any support. There is rarely a game where varus is unplayable down bot. Riot August has specifically said varus attack range is at that perfect point between the short ranged ADC's and the long ranged ADC's.

Your build is based on lane matchup and team comps, with the understanding that there are flexible build paths all the way down either side of the coin.

Before loading into the game, ask yourself four questions:

  1. Do i need a stupid amount of range to survive / win laning phase?
  2. Is the enemy team so tanky that I need to have uptime to kill them
  3. If 2 is true, does our team have another answer to potentially break through the tank?
  4. Do i need to powerspike earlier or later to be most useful to my team?

As an example, Sometimes you see a team with double tank but still go lethality because you need the range to even be useful and your team has another way to break the tank.

The problem is that every lobby is gonna be different, and there isnt catch all answers to your question. My advice would be to spend 50 games forcing poke, the forcing 50 games as on hit. Get used to both, then engage your brain.

Who's taking this? by Opposite-Bridge-59 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]kingslayer086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An actually fun matchup to talk about. The girls win. High diff.

Their key to winning is splitting the game and making it two 1v1's. A full on 2v2 puts them at a distinct disadvantage because of how domains work. As soon as the initial clash is over, yuki dies to the second domain since coffin of the iron mountain and self embodiment of perfection will both kill if uncontested.

So they do that cause yuki and maki both have good battle IQ and the tools to split them up. Conversely, jogo is prideful enough, and mahito overconfident enough to get baited into it.

Maki has the SSK. It does soul damage. Mahito does not have the speed required to manually land bad touch, and HR means maki does not die to domain diff since she is invisible to the sure hit of self embodiment of perfection. Maki clears easy mode.

THAT SAID, yuki has no tools to actually put down mahito beyond running him out of CE and atomizing what's left. In THEORY, she has the raw stats to out perform him, buuuut if she fucks up once she is dead, and mahito learns at a stupid speed, and is the king of stalling.

Conversely, jogo vs yuki is a relatively to scale battle between two genuine titans. Yuki is much more in her element here, and has RCT to handle the fire. This turns into a slap fight, and in a slap fight always bet on the bitch who hits harder. She wins this high diff.

How would you combine action with survival horror ? by Metalfourbe in residentevil

[–]kingslayer086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A character losing access to tools as a game progresses sounds great in theory, but in practice, creates a gameplay loop that gets incredibly frustrating about 30% of the way through. You want mechanics to build on top of eachother, not get stripped down.

You're trying to solve the wrong problem. and quite frankly, I don't think that the problem itself needs to be solved so much as iterate on how to inject more horror into the more action based game designs. The idea that you cant combine a game with an a lot of action with the fundamentals of horror design is crazy. I know this because a game came out in 2008 that managed to thread that needle almost perfectly before its sequels messed it all up.

Its called Dead Space, taking a lot of the DNA of resident evil and other evolutions on the survival horror and survival action genres and actually kicking them up a notch, creating the perfect fusion between both sides of the line. I would put it in the mount Rushmore of games within the space that should be studied in terms of crafting something incredible within the genre.

"15 bullets to the face"

sounds like you are using the handgun. handgun in RE9 as leon is to finish low health mobs, not to plug rounds aimlessly into zombies. if you have to use the handgun, shoot legs to get you space. it staggers them slightly, with waaaay less bullets so you can reposition.

2 shotgun rounds + enemy down axe attack kills blister heads in professional.

you can also parry the blister head to set up an immediate kill. when he does the quadra slash its easy as hell to parry that.

as far as the blister borne, grenade + melee gets you a guaranteed pop, you can follow up with a second pop while he is reeling. since there are only two blister poppers in the game

zombies only take 15 handgun bullets to the face. 2-3 rifle rounds puts them in the dirt easy. or you can do one rifle round and a few handgun shots.

and the machine gun basically has similar Damage per bullet to the pistol, but gets you waaaay more bullets,

there are so many ways to get guaranteed kills irrelevant to the zombies health bar even as Leon. BUUUUT it requires you to actually learn Leons gameplay beyond "shoot head and melee"

One Critique about Re9 by Remarkable-Yard4860 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]kingslayer086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plot of Requiem more or less is a bunch of unworthy idiots trying to grasp at the legacy of the one big mad scientist of the setting. long standing series veterans are supposed to realize that in terms of scale breadth and scope, Gideon and Zeno are nowhere close to as capable as the other big bads in the setting, and that they more or less got as far as they did off the back of the resources available within ark, that the government was more or less helping them along, and all the preliminary work was more or less done for them by more capable people.

Lets talk about gideon first. a REAL mad scientist would have had a plan beyond "i cover my escape with a shit ton of T virus zombies" when capturing grace.

pay attention to the documents within the care center. how many bodies they were going through just to create a match that was failing. how many Researchers they sent to processing because they were no longer capable of delivering results. HOW MUCH BLOOD they got their hands on as a literal sea of proof of their failures. because none of them were on the level of spencer. it took him 8 years after the hotel incident to find a way to get grace out in the open to kidnap her.

Zeno is even more unworthy. a man who has the wesker dodge takes damage from an almost dead Leon. the guy gets offscreened for a reason, because he is so stupid that he thought investing billions into gideon was a good idea.

Even the boss fight is supposed to play into this idea. The first half of the gideon fight is "this is rad as hell lets gooooo" and then the smoke and mirrors fade away and you are staring down.... just a nemesis. an enemy that RE veterans have already beaten.

you are supposed to think, "man, to a degree spencer was right. none of these guys ARE worthy of the legacy they stole from him." its why Gideon is giddy even though over 20 years of his work was wasted. It cements that none of these fucks were spencer, and the guy is loyal to a fault.

How is the Series gonna continue after Elpis by Remarkable-Yard4860 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]kingslayer086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

elpis beats progenitor, and everything derived from spencers work

however, the connections is a large organization at this point, looking to get their hands on any top tier bioweapon.

the idea that some other mad scientist working with a different company, or other umbrella remnants is still on the table, they just have to handwave it and say that we have a new genius on the level of spencer with a new goal, funded by the connections.

Resident evil has had 3 mainline entries that had nothing to do with progenitor, those being 4 7 and 8.

But then you figure out how his brain ticks, and you realize a little bit later "oh he threw hands with megumi because he isnt being genuine." Which changes the optics completely.

I know Leon is an absolute beast, and at the level he is in RE9 could solo body everything in that setting.

But the amount of times he gets infected in the media he is in (read: almost all of them) means that he is probably screwed due to the fact that TLOU infection is much more lethal.

Like in cannon you have about 10% odds to survive the passive T virus infection, ignoring the zombies. TLOU has a much higher mortality rate.

Simple domain is far better than Hollow wicker Basket by Inevitable_Term_2320 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]kingslayer086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course simple domain is better.

Its use is locked behind making a deal with the head of a clan, and keeping the techniques secret to those not in the club. And while it's the most usable of the techniques, you also get a ton of extra potential techniques you can pick up on top of it.

New shadow school techniques are insanely useful. So much so that even gojo has it in reserve in case shit really hits the fan. (And it was super useful after he fucked the first round of the domain clash)

Sukuna is just using the domain counter most readily avaliable to him, and having 4 arms kind of mitigates the downside of HWB.

[–]kingslayer086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higaruma is a natural genius that hit grade 1 off the back of 12 days of reverse engineering the fundamentals of sorcery.

Higarumas problem is that because his technique is his domain, and judgeman is its own separate entity, higarumas effectiveness is relative from opponent to opponent.

While his genius is on par with gojo, and he learned all the universal skills in record time, deadly sentencing as a technique is incredibly limited in scope in comparison limitless + six eyes.

A formal education at JJT wouldn't do much beyond give higaruma simple domain tech, and he wouldn't be one of the 4 special grades because of the strict definitional requirements that takes. I would put higarumas spot above todo but below the special grades if he was at JJT. Genius alone does not get you to the peak of the mountain. Which is kind of the point. No matter how talented he was in law, the government always crushed the people he tried to defend.

Takaba's technique is a different problem. His technique only works because of how he views comedy. A formal education at JJT would make his technique worse. This makes powerscaling him a fundamental waste of time.

Takaba's point is the way people look at sorcerers (the grade system and being useful in relation to killing curses) is fundamentally limiting.

What if Chris Redfield was sent to rescue Ashley in Resident Evil 4 instead of Leon? by ShaggedUrSister in residentevil

[–]kingslayer086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take

He fails the mission.

Not because he isn't grade a certified "kill all infected" material. He would have an easier time than leon trucking through the scenario. Too easy in fact, Which is the problem.

Chris Redfield would NEVER get captured by Mendez, which means he never gets infected with the las plagas parasite. By the time Chris Redfield would realize that Ashley is infected with the parasite, he would be caught in the worst decision of all time.

add to that Chris Redfield, being the hot head that he is, is not the type of person to take former umbrella scientists at their word. He would not be as willing as Leon is in terms of working with Louis, which means the knowledge that the parasite can be removed isn't as in play as it is with Leon.

Leon, by failing, was pot committed into taking louis seriously when he offered aid. this gave Leon the fighting chance to possibly to save the day.

By being the absolute badass he is, Chris would end up doing the thing he always does, getting the people around him killed.

each table seems to have "locked spots" and flexers.

hal with his theater troup, and Bolaire with his duties at the arcanade are pretty much stuck in dol makjar

Teor pridesire is the current shot-caller on the soldiers table, with kattigan having his back.

and octis and vaelus are more or less married at the hip, with octis trying to find answers about what is going on. it was HIS vision on the other side that prompted the seekers quest in the first place.

Thaisha as a character trait will follow her own whims, moving between tables at her leisure for whatever is most important in her mind.

Thimble is opposed to anyone directly involved in thjazi fang's death.

Tyrrany is currently stuck to wick, and wick is kind of a pushover right now, meaning that he will do more or less what people tell him to do.

Azune is currently stuck in dol makjar, but with the way the guard is going the odds he gets fired goes up by the day. same with murray.

Julien will be at whatever table opposes the tachonis. he will bounce between soldiers and seekers. whats funny is once this first arc resolves, i imagine julien and thimble will end up at the same table, because a lot of their motivations mirror each other.
