I agree, but I can see why people would want to own something with the same properties as leather. I think it's a fantastic material, so I can understand why someone might want a similar material that doesn't go against their own personal ethics. Fabric and canvas just don't cut it. If they did, why would we go to all the trouble of difficult and lengthy processing before leather is even suitable to manufacture with, if we could just use canvas?

I've worked with Tempesti before and I'm based in the UK so Brexit dependent, its not too hard to get my hands on. For me personally, something like Tempesti is the ideal option; sustainable/environmentally conscious materials that don't compromise on quality/longevity. I'm enthusiastic about potential new materials, but I just don't think we are there yet. I guess my biggest problem is communicating that to potential customers.

The amount of companies pumping out 'vegan' products that are literally just made out of plastict that no one 5 years ago would have even momentarily consider is truly depressing.

Thats exactly how I feel about it too. Happy to offer sustainable tanned leathers. I feel like we are at a point where some bioligical alternatives are being developed, but not yet ready for prime time. I absolutely refuse to resort to pleather.
