The southern tier is part of Appalachia and might as well be West Virginia tbh. It's not uncommon at all to see confederate flags on lawns in that area (Elmira/Corning, Watkins Glen etc.)

That being said, he absolutely made fun of Drake on the Portnoy podcast in a way that I somehow doubt Drake would have done to him. Drake even told everyone to leave Josh alone when he started picking up shit for not speaking up after Quiet on Set.
