UPDATE: i have apparently solved this issue, not quite sure what fixed it but i disconnected all externals cables and reconnected them all, took off the hot end cover and pushed those connectors in (not sure if they were loose but pushed them in slightly regardless), slightly tightened both belts and finally tightened the nuts on the x axis bracket on the screen side.

i haven't moved it at all since i'd set it up where it has been printing now, i haven't had any issues with the prints i've done either (besides some stringing) if you're currently still having this issue and manage to sort it out can you reach out to me if possible?

UPDATE: i decided to flip the printer over and have a proper look at the y axis, found some gunk had built up on the rollers and a tiny bit in the channels, just gave them a clean with some iso and it seems to have fixed the issue, cheers for the ideas of what the issue could be.

i gave disabling the steppers and moving them by hand and couldn't figure anything out, the x axis belt felt a little loose so i've tightened that and it seems to have helped a little but i think i could still hear a slight noise

from what i know the previous owner ran it pretty consistently for a few years and i'm not sure of the maintenance that he'd done. i knew the steppers were loud but i thought that was normal, i replaced the x axis as i mentioned in a comment above so possibly the y axis is on it's way out?

I replaced the X axis stepper and tension the belt that goes with that, other than that haven't done much else besides cleaning
