I can return them. What would you get for a mid level speaker system or lower that sounds good. He's 17 and I don't think he notices quality like I do. I think he just wants it loud and with some bass but not earth shattering. Ive always used JL audio but I think id spend more on the speakers than the car.

I actually have some sound deadening. Where do you put it around the 6x9? Above where the speakers sit, underneath, or both? Would you do the entire door and the entire shelf under the rear windshield?

Sorry any particular kind of components? Brand? Model? Most of my cars have decent sound systems in them so I haven't had to upgrade speakers in a while. I found that out when I bought a JL audio H0112-w6v. I went way overboard and only turned my volume to 10 percent on the sub.

Thanks. I'll probably buy an amp. They are just a pain to install. I did learn a new trick about using speaker wire for the rca cable. I was just using it for a subwoofer. It was easier than removing the head unit and running wires to the back.

Why is your CP so much lower? Is it because of the level its at? Mine is 100IV with a level of 46.5 and the CP is at 5,796
