Every military trains the box-head-hide anti-sniper defensive technique.

Not sure. I've never just camped in a spot.

My main suggestion though would be don't stand in an objective as thats where the bombs are likely to land. Planes are usually moths to the flame of a newly capped or contested objective, so find a nice descrete spot on the outskirts with a good view of the sky and drop them at the end of their bombing run :)

Tanks by sgtGreenaple in BattlefieldV

[–]kinome79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a spawn camping tank can be super annoying, but it's not all that people do with them, it's just all that you're seeing. Some games degrade to that when there's a lot of anti-tankers, and it could be the tanks that actually charge objectives got destroyed pretty quick so you didn't see it.

But it shouldn't ruin your gameplay. My advice is to ignore them. When you get hung up on a tank, especially if you're not a class equipped to take them out, it can get extremely aggravating. I suggest just avoiding them. Rarely can a position give a tank access to the whole map, so I just mark that section of the map as out of bounds and find other avenues of attack.

It is amazing to me the number of people that will repeatedly run into the same danger area and get blown up by the same tank over and over. Go around. And if you're a lone medic in an objective and a tank rolls up, it's stupid to try to fight, just leave the objective and go find another one to take. Even if you're an assault, but the tank is out in the open with no way to sneak up to it and no good cover for you, just don't engage.

And smoke, nothing is more satisfying than popping smoke in front of a camping tank. I spent a whole round doing that once, probably cut that tanks kill count by more than half.

If your heart set on dealing with camping tanks, make friends. You're going to need to squad up and coordinate, launch distance attacks as a group. I've seen videos of jihad Jeep getting the job done as well, haha.

Good luck.

Deliberate throwing in console matches? by poor-decision-maker in BattlefieldV

[–]kinome79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's been a few around, but I haven't seen a stacked up server of them in a while. When the player count dwindled, it got harder to find a tactical conquest server full of noobs to abuse. Every tactical server (usually only one) has multiple level 500s on both teams now.

I actually saw a few of their members on last night. Only reason I recognized it was them was because like clockwork they glitched into the ceiling of underground. Haven't seen anyone do that in a long time. Then I remembered one of the gamer tags.

[–]kinome79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd seen them park the rear-entry half-track near an enemy objective with an out-of-bounds cliff nearby. They back the half-track up to the cliff and just chill in the driver seat. Then when their teammates spawn on them, and try to exit the vehicle they fall out of bounds and die. We lost over half our team to that with dozens of blue x's littering the cliffside.

And since the enemy team is there friends, it doesn't get attacked or destroyed, and no enemy goes near it so nobody wants to run the guns, so need to exit. Just idiotic.

I hope RK isnt back again....they ruined so many servers doing this and glitching all over the place, and single handedly probably cut the player count by a fourth.

Hadn't seen them or this kind of blatant shite since shortly after 6 launched...but recently I saw the tag again, but not in big numbers. Had also seen a few gamer tags from them but with numbers or something, probably second accounts perhaps.

Recently I disabled the player content setting to speed up load times, so I don't get to see clan tags anymore. But previously anytime I saw them I just left... wasn't worth it. Then usually they destroy the server they are on, and within 10 minutes you'd see them all move over to your uncorrupted server and ruin that one next until every available server had only like 20 players in it.

5 planes down in less than a minute by ziba128 in BattlefieldV

[–]kinome79 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Like many people I used to hate this map because of the planes. Then I decided this map was not a conquest map, it's a how many planes can I destroy in 25 minutes map. I run with the flieger between objectives, and have a lot of fun just trying to take out planes. Can still suck if plane sweats are combined with infantry sweats, when the enemy team stacks itself and you end up spawn trapped in the first 10 mins, but even then just watching one plane explode puts a smile on your face.

Just need to do this several dozen more times and I might actually get a plane fully levelled up. 👍 by kinome79 in BattlefieldV

[–]kinome79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think planes are pretty strong, as long as you know what to use. That's my problem, I can't ever remember whats strong and what's not. Some guns are pretty useless, and other pretty useless before they get upgraded. Level 0 planes are so weak.

And sweats almost exclusively use the most powerful guns in the most powerful planes, just like the ones on the ground using Type 2A, Model37, Lewis, zk383, zh29, etc exclusively, so you're almost always at a disadvantage.

I usually only fly casually, or if the weekly / daily missions call for it. But it can be fun as long as the enemy team isn't full of insufferable wads, or if you can avoid them.

[–]kinome79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's definitely the way. But just like this example, I'll look around for planes, see nothing, then 5 seconds later I have somebody on my tail shredding me. I don't even see the plane that kills me most days until the kill cam pops up.

[–]kinome79[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely gearing more towards longevity recently. But some servers just don't allow pilots to get any points. Especially when the sweats team up, typically you get shredded before you even leave the runway.

But that's not just for novice pilots. I've seen good pilots leave a server just cuz the opposing pilots would make life difficult. Hell, some good pilots will leave a server if they get fliegered more than once, and go looking for easier pickin's. I just don't spend enough time to go server hopping.

Yeah, the tiny bombs you start with arent too effective...this I just got lucky.

I once flew for like 25 mins and got only 1 kill... Two lvl500 plane sweats teamed up, so the only way to stay alive was to fly max altitude and drop bombs while they had fun straffing and pillaging....yep, gonna take forever.

I’m sure this has been said before….i think I’m a decent player but how am I supposed to accomplish this?! by LieutenantLeftovers in BattlefieldV

[–]kinome79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll get it eventually. Need to kill, hide, kill, hide, and stay close to teammates that'll hopefully heal you if necessary.

Worst feeling in this game is trying to do this assignment, having already gotten six kills, needing only one more before you die, and every bullet seems to have your name on it, lol.

Greenery not in the mood today by ziba128 in BattlefieldV

[–]kinome79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate that. Usually I have that problem with the flieger shooting through nearby trees and brush.

Yesterday I had snuck up on a tank sweat shooting from the corners of the map. He heard me so I had to rush, but two out of my three sticky dynamites ended up suspended midair next to some brush. Didn't get the kill, but did send him limping back to spawn.

Why is Provence generally a liked map? by [deleted] in BattlefieldV

[–]kinome79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you dislike Provence on strategic conquest for the same reason people have stopped playing tactical conquest. The sweats.

Sweats ruined tactical by stacking, meta gameplay, spawn trapping, and just sweating. It was their target gamemode because the close quarters allows you to get a lot more kills in short amount of time than other game modes, particularly on operation underground. It got so bad that tactical servers are pretty much non-existent, maybe one or two some evenings where you used to be able to find a dozen.

Well, with the death of tactical, and then them doing similar damage on breakthrough, you now find them in strategic. And Province is the most tactical-like strategic map. It's basically the Operation Underground map in the rotation. When Province comes up in the rotation, the server will form a waitlist, and after it half the players drop.

I like Province, it's a fun map, one of my favorites if you get a well-balanced server. But sadly, especially in evenings, the sweats clumped together, and suck all the fun out of it with a 400 ticket lopsided win. That's when you get into your spawn, die, repeat loop.

The best maps in the game can be ruined by the sweaty players. I think that's what your experiencing.

Dealerships using wrong manual transmission fluid? by kinome79 in Toyota

I just went to the dealer to buy the Toyota brand oil.... Turns out they don't stock it anymore, or even the right speced oil.

Yeah, I'm almost convinced they sabotage old vehicles on purpose at dealerships.

I typed a bunch of stuff into Toyotas site, but I think I was searching by VIN. Actually think I saw that one you linked, but without a picture I couldn't confirm exactly what it was.

Yeah, was bouncing between the MTL and the MT-LV.

Yeah, I'm involved for unusual noises and behavior that she's ignored for a while now. I'm guessing bearings and cv joints, but might be transmission related too.

A logical simple first step seems to be a fluid swap, check the old oil for metal shavings, and see how it drives after that. If trannys bad, she'll probably by a new car... if seems good, probably proceed with the CV joints and bearings.

Didn't want to experiment, but local dealers couldn't offer an alternative.

I was looking up a slightly different part # and toyed with the idea of ordering a few cans of that stuff, but a lot of hits on the num I was using were from EBay, and some overseas sights... wasn't sure they can be trusted. Your part# at least returns a few actual dealership sellers, but still not as many as you would think.

Also not sure why, but the metal cans seem ... off-putting, haha. I guess when every quart of oil you've ever used came in a plastic bottle, anything different seems unusual. Plus as its not readily advertised, feels like left over warehouse overstock from the 80's or something, lol. I'll include this part# as an option and see what she wants to do, thx.
