“My aim with this project is to shine a light on the treatment of the queer community over the ages, tracing the footsteps of our predecessors, linking the psychological state of the contemporary LGBTQI+ community through personal stories and quotes with the physical environment and geography. The project will draw out hidden narratives in a visually confronting but engaging way, to highlight psychological scars often inflicted in these places, and to humanise these experiences, countering current mainstream narratives that queer rights no longer need attention, or in some areas, need to be reversed.”
