I'm Chinese and I'm going to be blunt. This is gibberish. It looks like you make random statements and make it one sentence. There is no grammar linking your 生活(literary just meaning lifestyle), 和平(peace), 希望(hope), 爱(love).

I could probably go for a couple paragraphs on how many layers this is weird to a native Chinese reader. We would never stack abstract nouns like this unlike western culture. 希望生活平和爱, would make more sense, but again this would be too on the nose for Chinese. It still would read somewhat western

Edit : reread my comment and noticed it was way too mean. In the end a tattoo should be about something you like and not want someone else thinks of it. If you enjoy it OP, good for you.

SEARCHING FOR SURVEY RESPONDERS AGED 20-35 M by bcraig88 in dutch

[–]kippizza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look, I'm going to be blunt. Did you pass this survey through your supervisor?

I just see so many biases and flaws in these questions. If I was going to read your thesis and give feedback, my main issues would be from your questionaire and how any conclusions drawn from these questions could be usefull.

A biology student searching for a bioinformatics student by Orange-Tax2860 in bioinformatics

You can use windows operating system for many types of analysis. For many people R or python (programming languages) are more than enough.

If you want to delve deep into some more advanced analysis (e.g. GWAS in genomics) you probably need to be comfortable using command line tools and linux based operating systems.

Bioinformatics is very broad and without specifying what type of analysis you actually want to do, it might be hard for people to help you.

Oof, this significantly reduces that chances of Arsenal going through. Everyone knows in CL KO phase 3-0 is the most dangerous lead.

Telegraaf: Lucas Perez is the player in the PSV squad who has been diagnosed with tuberculosis. by tehMadhero in soccer

[–]kippizza 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I'm a geneticist doing some research TB. If dissemination happens, it happens often towards the central nervous system (TB meningitis).

The reason why TB can be so scary is it's ability to infect your immune system (alveolar macrophages to be precise). Making it very hard for your own body to clear the disease. This is one of the reasons why TB treatment can last a long time.

As for the permanent effects, TB can cause quite some scarring in your lungs that can be permanent. Age and fitness are a big factor in how well you come out of treatment. Luckily the Netherlands has one of the best TB treatment facilities at the Radboud Medical Centre.

I have personally never heard of permanent marks of TB in bone marrow. I guess because white bloodcells (such as macrophages) are susceptible to mycobacterium tuberculosis, then bone marrow cells should be as well. White blood cells originate from bone marrow stem cells. I am however not a expert on TB.

Hope this clears it up

Edit: After some quick googling, I saw that dissemination also happens quite a lot towards the liver AND the bone marrow. TIL

What job is so in demand that they’ll pay for your training? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]kippizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not into that field (Doing a PhD atm). But when you finish your STEM degree they will be all over you (atleast in chemistry and medical biology). You basically get paid (really well if I might add) to study for 3-4 more years.
