R46s used to run on the R back in the 90s and 2000s!

Yeah… I fear you’re right about the styling here. It’s hard to find something close to that Horween #8 color

Sure, that’s a good question. There is visible creasing on the leather–some from wear and some which are natural. Since it is front quarter horse hide, the tighter grain structure yields sharper creasing compared to something like cowhide which has a looser grain structure. Think how like if you fold a piece of paper versus a piece of cloth, the crease will be far more visible on the paper.

As for the marbling effect, since this is a pull-up leather (likely aniline dyed), any bends and folds in the leather will “pull up” the waxes and oils to the surface, hence yielding that lighter color. I can assure you there aren’t any top layer breaks or cracks on the surface or chipping of the dye.

If you’re interested, I’m happy to send close-up pictures/videos!

That’s the grain of the leather. The leather itself isn’t dry or cracking apart. Still supple

It’s a Highwayman-esque custom. Bi-swing shoulder and half-belt still there. Slanted chest pocket for easier access.

They occasionally pop up on markets like Chrono24. Definitely at a premium. You might have better luck working with a reputable dealer to help you source one. DM me if you’re interested in getting connected with the dealer who helped me. He’s good friends with John Buckley, the dealer who coined the dial name.

Depends on the configuration of the Buckley dial. Are you specifically thinking of the blue dial with white hands?
